I may just have to do a track day and dispose the myth that TSS drivers are only quick for one lap

I did think about it for a while but the £ to track time is much worse than a trackday. I spent 130 notes including insurance for a full day open pit. TSS sits at blyton sits at 140 at the moment and I imagine 5 runs roughly for the day.
If they where to do sprints in the morning and a trackday in the afternoon Id be tempted.

However Im still thinking about it.

Every time the topic of "forced induction" is brought up on this forum, the most popular argument against FI is "learn to drive on track before increasing power", or some other nonsense, as if driving the car on a track is the only way your opinion becomes validated.
People need to learn that not everyone who buys a sports car buys it for track use. I tracked my car twice in the 2 and a half years I owned it. I did everything from a full NA setup to a near 300hp turbo setup, yet, to some people, because I wasn't at every track day or didn't join the Sprint Series, my opinion is far less valid.
Nearly everyone on this forum will spend ~90% of their time driving a GT86 driving it on the road, and quite likely on a boring road. Simply put, for that ~90% of the time, the GT86/BRZ being "built for corners" and "fast enough on the right road" isn't enough, and you're kidding yourself if you think 200hp is "fun" on a straight road, or the daily commute through town.
Adding a turbo/supercharger doesn't detract from the fun the platform offers on the right road, or a track. It requires more concentration and more skill to master, as well as some supporting mods to really make the most of it. However, the extra power means the platform can be enjoyed for the other huge percentage of driving, such as motorway miles, as the enjoyment of keeping up with much faster cars is a joy in itself.
I've developed a theory over my time on here, that most of the nay-sayers on this forum (when talking about FI) are only nay-saying as they either can't afford to do it themselves, or are scared of the potential consequences to reliability (or similar). To those people, I'd suggest that your voice has been heard, so no need to keep repeating yourself.
To everyone else who wants more power, whether for better track times, more enjoyment on the road, or simply to get more "scene" points in the McDonalds car park, I say go for it. Your money, your car, your life

I think good tyres would make even more difference on a flowing track like Donington or Cadwell, Bedford is a bit of a power circuit. That said when Steve took me out in his HKS supercharged car it was only 8 mph faster on the long straight.
The extra torque will give you more options on gear selection though.

People dont beleive me when I say that the supercharger doesnt reduce lap time by that much at all. Even at Bedford I don't think it more than 3 seconds.

You spend far more time braking and cornering where you are grip limited so tyres (and brakes if they fade) are the best way to reduce laptimes.

There's a comparison of primacies vs AD08Rs somewhere on you tube in an Frs and iirc the guy dropped 3.7s in a 1min 20s lap so you can see how at beford or snet 300 it could be 10seconds.

You're having a bit of hassle with those brakes. Even by the law of averages you'd expect half of it to be fitted right way around.

If you're going to change bushings, etc to this extent then I doubt a little extra NVH is a major concern. It's hardly as though the 86 is the last word in refinement anyway is it 😂

It's worth having a look to see if you can get rubber gaiters for the sphericals. I know they're available for common rod end sizes, not looked for these larger sphericals.
The LCAs do look like a nice bit of kit :-)

Will is correct. Its upside down, it should be putting a constant pressure on the pads.

The anti rattle clip is the wrong way round, it can't put any pressure on the pads like that.

I think the stock suspension is pretty good, (many reviewers out there believe this to) if you pick a spring without silly spring rates you can't go far wrong. I went for Tein Luxury Masters as the spring rate was the closest I could find to stock, which will obviously help keep within the spec of the dampers and keeps the same handling characteristics as stock. This is the only car I've owned which hasn't had aftermarket coilovers and I'm more than happy with the results.
If you are purely lowering your car for aesthetics and want to keep the drop moderate (i.e. less than 35mm) then it would be silly to spend a load of cash on a set of adjustable coilovers.

Mark had the FA20Club manifold fitted to a UK car quite early on, I believe he still has it. The TD manifold came later and is incredibly similar  The thing is that TD have a kit that they fit, Mark has always done the tailored mods route.

There are plenty of good combos out there. Seems to be a current trend on this forum that TD is the only good option which isn't true.

I can't vouch for stock rims, but there is simply tons of room around the diameter and also from the spokes on my wheels which are 17x8.
I didn't realise the involvement that you and Will had. Cool stuff.

I actually disagree with putting tweeters im the door cards (sorry lauren). If you look at the competiton installs they either put then in the dash or make custom A pillar pods. I tried it in my corolla and sounded awfully bright.

Also I havent seen any issues with comb filtering off the windscreen (causing wobbles in the tweeter response), but you do get a natural roll off as it goes above 10k-ish.

Ade reacted to Lucas in Cosworth Baffle Plates - Prevent engine damage
Engineered to combat the power sapping effect of oil ‘blow by’ during periods of sustained driving at high rpm the plate is an especially important addition to your Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ if driven on track.
This Cosworth baffle plate directs the oil returning to the sump away from the crank via diverting plates and by incorporating a series of one way valves into its design the baffle plate also prevents oil moving into the upper crankcase chamber preventing oil starvation during harsh driving conditions.
This is vital when considering the 86 / BRZ's horizontal ‘boxer’ layout is particularly susceptible to oil pooling in the heads when cornering which can starve the pickup pipe of oil potentially causing major engine damage in the process.

CTEK are very good. I have the 3.6A one and within an hour it used to charge my knacker battery  enough to start the car.

The CTEK chargers can be left connected indefinitely. Its a clever little charger and can be used to condition the battery too.
