Just tried this from Flickr and it hasn't worked, I think it was much easier as it was.
    Now I'm old I've decided I don't like change 😁
    Now sorted cheers👍

Best thing is to host it elsewhere like Flickr etc then paste the link in.

Would be nice to see at least DIY guide pictures hosted locally, so that such will stay independent from cases such as when photobucket policy change fscked up so many. :/
One thing is eye candy,  generic blog pics and alikes, another - pics for useful instructions. It would be nice if there was a way to have different local storage policies for these different use types.

Got to agree mate those springs are a no brainer if you're not going on track. Like I said yesterday if it wasn't for you, they would be my spare/future set up for when my current ones give up.

So yesterday was the day I'd been looking forward to for the best part of a month - parts fitting day! @Mark-in-Stoke and I were booked in with Rich at Tuned UK to have suspension work done to both our cars. I won't spoil Mark's update, but in a nutshell we were taking his 'temporary' suspension and putting it on mine, and he was having his newly resprung Ohlins coilovers put back on. This all came about after the OcUK meet in April. Mark had popped over and took me out in his car, after being somewhat surprised at how good TunedUK's 40mm spring collaboration with Eibach was. I was very sceptical expecting the ride to be trashy, rock hard and sat on the bump stops. I couldn't have been more wrong; the ride was firm yes, but not uncomfortably so. Body roll is far better controlled and the stance looks fantastic. No issues with clearance and no smashing of bump stops. Given I don't do track work and have no intention to, coilovers would be nice but probably overkill for me. So Mark offered me these once his resprung Ohlins were ready.
We got to TunedUK nice and early and whilst Rich set about Mark's car, Mark and I set about mine with a couple of body mods. I'd been away recently and managed to get a set of rear quarter louvres brought back from the USA. The company (Ikon Motorsports) were great and sent them to my hotel and the package was small enough to bring back in my hand luggage so no problems with them being damaged.

As I've seen from Facebook these are very much a marmite thing, plenty of hate for them (including 'oh noes, how will you see out the back of the car?). I can't actually see through my rear quarters due to the passenger headrest, so it makes no odds to me. They attach easily with 3M tape and the fitment is absolutely spot on. We also fitted the carbon winglets to the front wings properly and with the weather being so hot yesterday we got a really good solid fit.
Before long Mark's car was sorted so it was time for mine to get on the ramps. I was nervous to say the least, I wasn't 100% sure if everything (especially the CE28's) would fit. But everything came good bar my drop links being stuck and needing to be cut off. Luckily Rich had a set of Whiteline adjustables in stock so we chucked those on and then he got to work with the alignment. The springs drop the car 40mm, but the 18's with 225/40/18 tyres raise the height by about 5mm. Even so, this was putting a fair bit of negative camber to say the least. The back was virtually spot on even and ended up sitting at -2. For the fronts on Rich's advice for my type of driving we put the camber bolts in the other way around and neutralised the camber a little. I've never known someone so precise and OCD about alignment, everything was done with a real sense of care to get the best possible result. This was the end result, pleased is an understatement! Note the car hasn't been cleaned and is in strong sunlight so yes, tyres and louvres aren't as black as they'll normally look.

    Under more normal light:

On the drive back home even with the car full of stock wheels I was able to get a sense of the improvements over stock. We took a scenic route down lots of twisty A roads to avoid traffic which was great fun. Turn in is nice and quick, body roll is loads better and I feel a lot more confident. I'm looking forward to trying it out more over the weekend.

Take it to Japfest and use that as an advertisement? Put some "for sale" notices up, someone will bound to make an offer?

I hope the person who gets this keeps it in the same condition as it's mint and not a penny spared in it's creation.

No mate  I've still got them and just in the process of getting them resprung.
I had them removed when the car was with Rich at Tuneduk when he was resolving a bastard  of a groan coming from the car. Just part of the process of elimination really and I haven't got round to having them refitted yet as I've quite enjoyed trying these springs out. If you don't go on track and want low and still comfy these are a no brainer.

Mark-in-Stoke reacted to Lowe in OcUK motors meet - all welcome :) Sat 3rd March, Newcastle-Under-Lyme
So the event went ahead and despite the weather was a good turn out. Lots of tasty metal on show but you didn't want to stay outside for long to look at it!
So OcUK are up for doing it again, on the 12th May. Same deal as before - will post a new thread.

So as per my other posts I did a test fitment the other week since I wasn't sure if these CE28's were the right bolt pattern. I whipped off the front wheel and to my relief they fitted without issue. The offset looked OK too, near enough flush with the arch, but I guess once the lowering springs go on and a bit of camber is dialled in this will push in the top end a bit.

So they got sent off for refurb - I specified wet spray rather than powder coat due to concerns of the forged aluminium annealing under the oven heat. Having had a wheel crack before, I didn't fancy repeating the experience! They came back on Saturday morning, and I'm super pleased with the result!

Metallic black - the flake is super subtle under diffused light but when the sun hits it looks incredible - much like 61k grey, so in keeping with the rest of the car. I gave them a good clean up and then got to work with the decals and centre caps.

Seriously can NOT wait to get the rest of the car done. But will have to, I'm now broke.

I don't really understand comments like archaic or low technology. Coming from BMW 540i, 530d and 335d Coupe, I find the BRZ cabin just as comfortable and the seats by far the best of any car I've driven.
Technology? An NA 2.0 petrol with port and rail fuel injection developing 200bhp with decent economy and runs smoothly. What's old tech about that?
Finally, the car looks twice as good as my 335d did and costs just half as much.

Beacuse of my age i can't test drive them. I was all up for the c class and gti. Then i started to think.

The c class is just for comfort and that's all, not full to drive
The gti is a all rounder but where I live its associated with drug dealers. That what put me off it and because of that insurance is really high

Then i seen the gt86 i dont know why but something about this car made me fall in love with it. From the outside it got the looks. To me looks 10x better then the c class and gti.
Inside not so much but i can do things to improve it.

Its not technology advanced like the other two.

What am looking in a car is a car that is fun to drive, but that also has good looks and and easy to live with.

I've always found the shift on my car (especially into 2nd) to be a little problematic when it's cold.
I saw someone in an American group who fitted a shifter extension and said it made a massive difference. A quick look on ebay revealed this would cost me a whole £2.20 to try so I ordered one.

The aesthetic is a bit meh but the effect is impressive. The shift even when cold is absolutely no problem now and shifts just need the lightest movement of the shifter.
@will300 tried it in his car and was impressed enough to order one for himself which I know he's had fitted for a few days now and is still a fan.
I definitely prefer the shift with the extender on when the cars cold but possibly prefer the non extender shift when it's warm. In the original post I'd seen they combined the shifter extension with a short shifter and I can see how this would be a perfect combination.
If you've got a slightly reluctant gearbox and can live with the look then I'd say it's £2.20 well spent!

I bought one of these a couple of weeks back and last week gave it a run out, I cleaned the cars and conservatory windows and was very very impressed!  I didn't need to dry them off, just let them dry naturally and no watermarks!!

Jane had these done about 3 weeks ago, they're dipped carbon on a candy apple red base, when the sun catches them they really pop, We think they compliment the interior in her 86 incredibly well.

Need spigots and nuts. Standards don’t fit Rays. Also, it’d look bloody stupid on stock suspension 😳
