bassett got a reaction from BRZ-123 in Key fob battery
Thanks guys yes i found out it is a 1632 and opening up the key fob is amazingly easy once I found the right video online. Top tip on getting spares as I'm sure my second fob will follow shortly.
I still need to find a battery but for anyone wondering on how to remove the battery. Press in the bottom on the side of the fob to release the manual key from the fob. Pull out the manual key. WIth the tip of the manual key insert it into the recess in the fob and twist to split the fob in half. You then have to release the circuit board gently to uncover batter on the other side.

I entered this and had a cracking day out with the GT86. The Toyota GB team put on good show bringing along their hospitality centre, some new demonstrators as well as a few added bonuses. To kick the day off there was sign on, scrutineering and the compulsory Pom luggage check. Luckily the seats fold down flat on the 86 which passed with ease but the MR2 boys struggled. Next up there were 3 competitive timed tests, a slalom, acceleration and braking test and finally a auto test. The cars entering included pretty much one or more of every model and year Toyota I can think of including Corolla, yaris, MR2, supra, celica and obviously my 86, an aero and even a Prius or 3! It was good fun and nice to do something competitive in the car with zero risks. Just before lunch all the competitors got the chance to drive 3 parade laps of the GP circuit which was great fun and an unexpected bonus to the day. Ive never had a huge appreciation for Silverstone but it is massive and very impressive in person. Whilst the Toyota event was going on the main Pomeroy Trophy was underway with some amazing machines pounding round the track from pre war classics to a howling Chevron race car and rally spec mk2 escort with gearing so low it was bouncing off the limiter on the straights. Afternoon session had the same 3 events as the morning giving a chance to push a little harder. All competitors were given a Gazoo Racing wolly hat and Vintage sports car club engraved tankard trophies, it's the taking part that counts 😛
if Toyota put on the same event next year I'd thoroughly recommend it, I might even enter the main Pomeroy Trophy for the different elements and the added seat time round Silverstone.

I went for option 1, no problems after a year since fitment. It did help it was at my friends garage as he mentioned they can be fragile and he took his time and did it properly.

I swapped mine over to my new wheels and have been fine the last year. The valve contains the sensor  and its a big lump so certain wheels depending on design might not be suitable with tpms but i guess that not many have had to deal with this issue aa its still relatively new. Also means the tyre shop might charge you more to take the old sensors off the old wheels to put them on the new ones. I might be wrong but having a tpms fault could be an mot failure

Interesting i find mine ridiculously light but i guess it depends on the other cars youve driven and use regularly. As its second hand could be worth an alignment check to make sure everything is point straight and check the tyre pressures are equal.

Sounds like a great trip and the car looks good. Its a similar trip to one I did a year back with the wife but with a lot less exercise

Was down there 8.30 till 12.30. There's some interesting cars to have a look at and watching some of the maping was interesting all be it noisy. They have a reception area with some jap magazines etc but after an hour or two you might want to pop to the oxted towm centre a 15min walk away, we stopped in Wetherspoons for some food right next to the morrisons supermarket

Thanks for opinions everyone, mark at abbey has now mapped the car which I mostly took his advice on
    98ron
98ron with flat foot shift and launch control
98ron with flat foot shift, launch control and downshift blip
95ron and limited to 5k rpm all gears
Mark didnt feel different throttle sensitivity would be beneficial on NA and I agree as all map options behave in the same way. All maps also have the loud cold start removed which im sure my neighbours approve of.

Finally got the Speedline Turini's on, a long time coming (priorities shifted when I found out a little one was on the way). Really happy with how they turned out and will be interesting to see how these new Yokohama V105s perform. I actually got along with the Primacy's pretty well in dry, hot and even damp conditions but as soon as the temperature dropped and it got wet and greasy out I was definitely surprised on a few occasions. Hopefully the new tyres will be more predictable but still allow some now and again.

I always carry a microfiber and quick detailer. Spray the bird bomb with the detailer to try and break it up. If it doesn't break up cover with the microfiber and soak it with detailer, this way it allows the detailer to be absorbed and break up the poo. Then hose off or dab but definitely don't wipe as there is usually gritty bits in the poo that will mark the paint

Our toyotas are 56.1. Is the centre bore stamped on the wheel or do you know the car it came off to double check the cb size. I got 57.1mn to 56.1mm spigot rings from ebay and seems to be fine if not call wheelbase/rimstyle or the likes as they can probably get some.

Had to use my physical key also. Firstly make sure you turn the right way but it definitely needs some brute force and feels like it might break but doesn't.
