Kesler got a reaction from Ade in New GR range for Toyota
Howdy all,
Perks of the new job means I have access to more information for you regarding anything Toyota or Lexus related.
The other day, Toyota's Gazoo Racing (GR) division announced a new GR range for some of the cars.
https://toyotagazooracing.com/release/2017/other/0919-01.html
With 100 of the Yaris GRMN (1.8 litre supercharged Lotus engine, ~210bhp) confirmed coming here, TMC plan to bring the GR series out of Japan so we may see some more development coming to the UK.
What do you guys think?

Looks really good I think. Big brakes and at last properly decent forged wheels on it too. Only thing I'm not struck on is the front lip kit and sideskirts. I say this only because the likelihood off knocking it off on a kerb is extremely high.

Ha! I do recall saying that I had leaning shots - particularly that turn that catches everyone out and you see the cars cocking a wheel up. You drove very sensibly and thus, was leaning but not to that extent!
I do have that photo, if I have time tonight I'll send that over to you

Hahaha I'll spare your blushes don't worry. It was great meeting everyone - although I didn't have much time to chat as this track involved a lot of walking around! Blagged some great vantage points and took a few photos:

Sorry mate, what's a BC meet? But almost certainly there were epic cars everywhere that day:

I'll be happy to give whoever is interested a spin in her so they can hear it.
I wouldn't trust the Milltek systems at all. I have had many friends who have had VW's (a milltek favourite brand) in the past that have been tuned and all of their Milltek exhausts rusted away, failed or had problems.
I am not too sure on the answer to that, but my appointment with him is on Friday so will be able to give a definitive answer when I get back home

So wheels have turned up, spigot rings turned up, wheel nuts ordered, now need tyres.
Also my new rear plate has arrived:

Exhaust mounts nicked from the OEM system, silicone joint thingy applied, and on goes the new exhaust. I'd say the biggest difference is the OEM system has the pipe coming from the side (shorter side) of the backbox, bending round to join the centre section. The new system comes straight out of the back, and the joining pipe bends around the rear subframe. Different, but hey - it works.
Gasket fitting. Phil doesn't always look surprised like this you know, perhaps it's when I went "BOOM PHOTO" right to his face when I took this.
Time to use the supplied bolts to fit everything together:
And that is when I realised the supplied bolts are a heap of junk, the moment we torqued the bolts up, this:
Phil sorted me out with some stronger nuts and bolts and on we went, and then one last check with the exhaust:
And voila - we're done!

I would only recommend JP, as I've used them before and had various work/systems made up for cars I've owned. Years ago when I was helping with Elise K20A conversions they were the only one able to make a manifold that didn't crack. I just think their workmanship is outstanding, but I wouldn't consider someone else. H&S holds no interest for me.

If it's any help I have non-res Milltek with a secondary cat delete and over-pipe. It's absolutely fine on the motorway no drone at all. I do 400+ miles a week, with a fair bit of motorway thrown in. Not an issue.

Small update, HIC rear visor arrived and fitted, looks smart and adds a bit of shape to the rear windscreen:
Yes I am Chinese; I do not like to rip off all plastic wrapping until it really is necessary:
