Fenhopper 22 Report post Posted December 19, 2017 Is it just my car, or is the drivers footwell heating a bit rubbish in the GT86? Matt.
Ignited 24 Report post Posted December 19, 2017 Well, I have only had my 86 for about a month but I have been wondering the same! I am curious to hear what others say.
bassett 48 Report post Posted December 19, 2017 Was thinking exactly the same at the weekend with what should be a furnace 25+ on the climate control but it only moved from a a cool breeze to luke warm.
Fenhopper 22 Report post Posted December 19, 2017 Thanks guys, sounds like it's not just my car. Matt.
Lucas 244 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Takes slightly longer to feel it, but HI temp. & Full blast when car is warmed up does the trick. It's not as "good" as vents in the dash, but it works.
Paul 442 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Mine's pretty toasty.
nerdstrike 186 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Do a few full throttle pulls and the footwell will warm right up!
Varelco 211 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Mine isn't that toasty, not compared to other cars. I find I have to set the GT to 25-26degC to match 22degC in my Golf. The heated seats are more slightly luke warm seats too.
Fenhopper 22 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 It's not so much that the air isn't hot with with my car, it's more a case of poor circulation of the hot air / poor positioning of the vent in the footwell. Matt.
Church 209 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Yes, compared to other cars i had before, heating seems a bit on a weak side, also kicks in later .. but i don't find it as issue. In most cases when it's very cold outside i'm dressed according weather, also often cold weather comes in hand with cleaning ice/snow from car prior taking off, by which time car already somewhat warms up. Frameless windows freezing to rubber seals in these cars were more of an issue to care about in winter, then weak heating.

It's just my feet that get cold, and I don't like wearing thick socks and big boots, because I like to be able to feel the pedals.

I always drive in driving shoes, but I admit, you never really get a feeling of your feet getting toasty. However the temperature in the car is fine. I just have it on auto with AC on at 22C all winter and the same with 20C in the summer. Whilst it's not really hot, it's comfortable enough and with the heated seat on it's cosy enough. Never a reason to drive in boots!
Rich 378 Report post Posted December 20, 2017 Never had a problem with cold feet in the car. Usually cold hands from the controls if anything!
Guest 86guns Report post Posted December 20, 2017 If you have your climate set to auto and watch the centre indicator, you will see it sets the air flow to feet/screen until the car warms up, then changes to face vent only. Hence no heat to feet. I’ve never been in any other car that does this. Pressing the centre of the middle knob to toggle it to foot well does the trick.
