The team at MeisterR offer their deepest condolences to all people affected by Hurricane Harvey.
With many people killed and more than 200,000 people left homeless, the Salvation Army are doing all they can to support victims of flooding caused by America’s heaviest rainfall on record.
Right now, Salvation Army staff and volunteers are working 24/7 to help communities that have been torn apart by the storm.
However, they desperately need funds to help them offer the best support that they can to the hundreds of thousands of people affected.
The motoring community is a tight-knit one, and we pride ourselves in helping others in their time of need.
MeisterR have created a fundraising page to support the Salvation Army.
Please  donate what you can: $5, $10, or $50 can help save lives.
    Donate Here: https://www.gofundme.com/meisterR
We will give away a free set of MeisterR ZetaCRD / ZetaCRD+ coilovers to a random donator on September 22, 2017.

MeisterR got a reaction from Nicebiscuit in Trophy Finish for MeisterR at first National Auto-Solo Event
So the past weekend we attended our first National Auto-Solo event.
The 2017 Tire Rack College Station Championship Tour, and it was certainly an experience.
    https://www.scca.com/articles/2005718-2017-tire-rack-college-station-championship-tour-event-recap
Our team went into the competition feeling pretty confident, until we went to the grid and check out the competition's cars.
The top runners are using the Honda S2000 Club Racer edition, that is a limited run of 699 cars designed with aero package and soft top removed to reduce weight.
Only the CR are allow to run without the soft top, as the class rules state what came on the car in factory trim must stay; and looking at their engine bay you can see how well their cars were prepared.
Most are using the PasswordJDM carbon fibre intake, and a few cars was running Moton Clubsport 2-way adjustable coilovers; that is only what you can see.
In contrasts, we have a pretty standard 2007 Honda S2000 with 90,000 miles on the clock.
The only mods were a K&N intake, Invidia exhaust, Eibach front anti-roll bar, and MeisterR ZetaCRD coilovers in our prototype race specification.
Even our ECU was standard and unmapped... so you can imagine how our confidence drop "slightly " after seeing what we were up against.
Most were using the same tyres, the new BFGoodridge Rival S... so that mean we were on even ground at least on that part.
But never mind, this is our 1st national event so it was just to see where we sit outside of the Houston region.
The STR Class we are competing in have a total of 17 drivers, many are experienced veteran at national event.
Our driver is 21 years old Landon Thompson (who is getting a lot of stick up and down the grid because of his age), but it was all good fun.
Overall, the competition was great and environment was friendly; but you know it is a competition and people are serious and there to win when you speak with a few.
So at the end of the two day race, we end up just edging out for a 3rd place trophy finish out of 17 drivers.
Considering how under prepared our car was and it’s our first national attempt, we were all very happy about the result.

So that is it from MeisterR's team and our first national event, we came home with a blue cap (trophy winner) and a big meal at the end of the day.
We will continue to improve the car to bring it to a more competitive trim, and can only hope or better result in the next event.
It was a great weekend, just want to share our excitement and our result.

MeisterR got a reaction from KevinA in Suspension
With suspension, it is very difficult to "measure" performance because it is only one part of a working system.
The driver, the suspension, the anti-roll bar, the tyres, the track / road surfaces, all combine and work together.
This is how "vehicle dynamics" are calculated, and in a way it is different for everyone.

There are some constant variable such as heat fade resistant and durability.
There are some suspension that are design incorrectly such as having way too much damping force for the springs rate.
But to really understand how everything works, one really need some basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, not just how a damper work.

If you look online, alot of people post up a "force vs. velocity" dyno, and use that to "gauge" how good a damper is.
From where I am sitting, if I get shown a "force vs velocity" dyno, I wouldn't actually know what show because it doesn't actually show "how" the damping force is generated.

The main thing to remember is that suspension need to fit the driver's need.
An expensive 3-way race suspension will get out performed by a budget 1-way coilovers if this is for a daily fast road car.
Higher price don't always mean better suspension, and more adjustment just mean more to go wrong if driver do not know how to set it up.

Just to post up the latest update on this.
Lucio have finish 1st place at Race 10 also.

As you notice, there is only 3 competitors this round because they are the main challenger to the championship.
With this 1st place finish, Lucio will lead into Race 11 and Race 12 on December 5th/6th at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Houston.
However, it will be very tight as there is less then single place worth of points between the 3 competitors.
So who ever do the best in the next two rounds will take home the championship trophy as no one has a big lead at all.
We will report back with some news, hopefully it will be gold but there are no guarantee in racing.

    Well, here is the finale:  90HP MX-5 + MeisterR Zeta-R Coilovers + Kumho V70A (185 R14)

    Base Lap time:  9:21
    Final Lap time:  8:39
That is right, the coilovers and tyres knock a WHOPPING 42 seconds off the lap time!
This 8:39 lap time tie the 90HP RingBanana MX-5 with a standard 240hp Honda S2000 driven by Horst von Saurma according to the Nurburgring lap time record…
    Enjoy the video.  :)

MeisterR got a reaction from Keethos in Coilovers: Low or Compliancy?
That is good because that is the "answer" I was hoping for really.
The GT86 is a great handling car, and because of the suspension design there is a limited adjustment range if you want to keep everything functional.
So our current coilovers allows the suspension to work as intended, but producing a suspension that will let the car go any lower will literally throw performance out the window.
Therefore, if people want to have a suspension that go really low, it is something we can do.
While we can still produce a functional and safe suspension that will go low, it will not perform as well as our current setup… and that will be a step backward that pains me.
Good that no one on this forum is interested.

    That is good to hear.
I am just looking at the engineering drawing for the GT86 and pretty much to make a suspension go any lower can our current offering, I am going to need to throw performance out the window.
We can do it, but it isn't something I personally would like because I know it isn't going to perform.

So the fact that most of you feel that there aren't a need to go "stupid" low is good feedback for us, because it mean we don't have to make a kit that I personally wouldn't like to be driving on.

Just to say I got the date wrong, the auto solo event is actually tomorrow.
So i should have some result once everything are updated with SCCA.   One thing I do want to mention is that DO NOT TAKE THE RESULT TOO SERIOUSLY…   It is meant to be a light hearted fun exercise, I am not out to prove MeisterR or Bilstein. There are still a lot of variable, and it is still subjective one way or the other.   Some feel that I was out with an agenda, and really that wasn't the case. I would of wait until the result are in before I post anything if it was to ensure MeisterR is better.   I post this up before the event, and will post the result whatever it is MeisterR being faster or slower makes no difference to me.   That is it, I will report back once result are in.     Jerrick
