I do indeed have the Q300
This was with the Borla UEL manifold and the Invidia Q300
This is it with a high flow cat in place of the front pipe and a custom straight through pipe instead of the resonated mid pipe Invidia give you

You are in luck Remal I have just seen this
Nice to see you are interested in the Invidia systems, they are fantastic quality and Chris from Tarmac will get you a good deal. The reason you pay more for the Q300 is because of the "backbox" style design instead of the Y pipe of the N1, more material is used, and it also produces a quieter more refined sound.
On the other hand, the N1 is designed to be LOUD, it does drone a bit and is incredibly deep in it's tone. Due to it being a less restrictive Y pipe design It is best optimised for flow, outside of a single exit Tomei or Blitz for example.
I chose it because I wanted the car to be a bit loud and obnoxious, as it was something I felt it dearly lacked, even though it was a sports car, but also it produced good HP numbers.
Quality wise I have had no problems in the year I have had it. The titanium tips look as good polished up now as they did when I first bolted it on. The Invidia plaque at the split of the pipes looks awesome underneath the car, and the welds and joins on the exhaust itself are very solid.
Here are a couple of pictures of it on the car:
Unfortunately I do not have any videos of the sound of mine at the moment (will get those done), but I do have the identical setup to this YouTube video:
The N1 contributes to a lot of the sound along with the Borla UEL. Even before the manifold was installed, and it was on the stock manifold, it was a loud beast.
I think you said however that being loud was not your target, but something that sounded a bit fruity instead was more your thing? Well the Q300 is definitely the choice for you in that regard then, as it doesn't produce the drone of the N1, yet is still a bit louder than the stock system.
Quality wise they are the same too.
Hope that answer helps in your decision process any way buddy

Having a look at Tarmac sports website I like the looks of the Invidia exhaust and found this on youtube
nvidia N1 vs Invidia Q300. I do like the looks and sound of the Q300. Anyone have a invidia Exhaust and if yes whats it's like -

The 86 as much as I love it is the slower of my toys. I have a Tiger Supercat with a 2ltr Zetec running Twin 45's I built 11 years ago and still have it. Also a Fireblade.
I love anything from classic cars, bikes etc...

I'd avoid Miltek with a lot of people having issues recently
You're spoilt for choice on a catback system (backbox and middle pipe) and it will come down to 2 things:
1. Budget
2. Aesthetics
How much are you willing to spend and what style do you want? Slash-cut tips? Rolled tips? Large or small? Black, chrome or titanium?
I'd get on Tarmac Sportz website and take a lot at the offerings then get in touch with Chris to see what he can do for you
Just a catback alone will change the tone slightly, a few people have gone down this route whilst others have replaced the OEM manifolds, overpipes and cats for more sound and better flow for power too

Highlights. There were many
from the Autoban, Views by and on the alps. The food at a the 2 michelin star restaurants. Having a private pool at this place http://www.lepetitmanoir.ch/
staying in this place http://www.alte-rheinmuehle.ch/aktuelles.php right on the rhine river
23 degrees at the foot of the alps to 4 degrees and 15ft snow drifts a few hours later
We only booked the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen then found hotels and went where the weather was good. And lucky the weather was good in the direction we were hoping to go which was Switzerland

Welcome back buddy! Saw a few of your pictures on Instagram during the week. Looked like you had a great time with 3 quite different cars (that Morgan looked lovely).
What was the highlight of the trip in your opinion?

Back. Well back since Saturday night. Left Luxembourg Ardenne forest area Saturday morning and drove the 230 miles to Calais. Got ferry tickers and drove the 200 miles from Dover and got back just after 8am. In time for my Sister in laws Engagement party. So after a lift to the party I was rather tired by 11PM.
I put a few pics of the trip up on youtube
Total was 1670 miles Monday to Saturday. Amazing places to visit. Switzerland was fecking expensive and we did not intend to stay more than a day. By the 3rd Night we got into Germany. Managed to get on a Autoban but was a shame the traffic was heavy so only managed 110MPH. but was really refreshing that you can do any speed you like without the need to keep a eye out for speed cameras and Police.
Trip was Caen via Le mans and Tours to Macon then into Switzerland to Morges By Lake Lausanne, Both the Grimsal pass and Furka Pass (as in italian job start of movie ) was closed due to snow. We thought this could happen at this time of the year so took a Car train via the pass tunnel. Stayed in Altdof which was amazing and lovely views. Up past Zurich to Schaffhousen then to The Ardenne forest and stayed in Boullion
Amazing place and to be at the foot of the alpes in 23 degree heat to then to get 15ft drifts next to reads thousands of feet up and it's 4 degrees.
I'll be going back via italy next time.

Well i've finished work. I'm away with the family tomorrow and coming home Sunday lunch time. Then pack and off to Portsmouth for the overnight ferry to Caen. So plan is On ferry, dump gear and off to the pub
I'm going with 3 others , My good Mate in his Lotus Elise S2 111S, Another in his 964 and the last one is his new Morgan.
Should be great and looking forward to it just a bit.
Plan is go where the weather is. We have a week to play with. Intending to Go South East tho Switzerland and Austria, Italy and so on.
Going to see what 300-500 miles a day over a week will be like . Having done that on my Fireblade a few years ago i'm looking forward to a comfy seat, Air con and music .
Excited much

I've still been looking but i'm surprised how difficult it is to find any pics of the orange with anything other than Silver, Gunmetal etc.. colours
I think this looks good . Just been looking on google images

remal reacted to Tareim in What colour wheels with a Orange 86
white probably the best on the ginger that isn't silver or black, a blue might work but you'd need to get the right shade of blue
-
remal reacted to Nicebiscuit in What colour wheels with a Orange 86
How about a pale blue - think classic Gulf racing colours.
-
remal reacted to Tareim in What colour wheels with a Orange 86
that's sort of the lines I was thinking of though the orange is darker on the gt86
-
remal reacted to Lauren in What colour wheels with a Orange 86
It's a difficult one because orange is difficult to contrast with. Crazy wheel colours seem to work best on primary colours with white going with absolutely anything.
Okay, have been through all my pics from 86 style at Fuji last year and this is the best I can find:

To be fair this actually works quite well I think. Sorry fro the lack of focus.

remal reacted to rob275 in Choosing aftermarket wheels - advice wanted
For 7j an offset of 25 front and 18 rear is the maximum you can have, if lowered 30mm, reduce the offset 2mm
For an 8j an offset of 38 front and 31 rear is the maximum you can have, if lowered 30mm, reduce the offset 2mm
The above is for a flush setup, this info is taken from the ft86 forum in the states, probably a good read http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535
That said, you can have less offset, there are links to images of peoples setups on that page as well and how they look.

remal reacted to smudge in Choosing aftermarket wheels - advice wanted
8" isn't the offset
The numbers for wheels are as follows:
17"/18" = diameter of the wheel
7"/8" or sometimes 7J/8J = width of the wheel
Offset is then a number in double figures, usually between 30 and 50 for our cars, which will give you how much the wheel will stick out when botled onto the hub
A useful comparison guide can be found here:
http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
I'm on 18" x 9.5J wheels, offset ET40
The wider the wheel, the more it sticks out obviously, so you want a HIGHER ET to counteract this as the higher the offset number, the more the wheel sits inside the arch
However, you also have to think about inside the arch to make sure the inside of the rim doesn't catch the suspension
So, I'd 1st of all find a set of wheels that you like, find the size you want (usually 17" or 18") and then you can look at widths and offsets to make it sit nicely
-
remal reacted to Lauren in Choosing aftermarket wheels - advice wanted
If it's any help I would look for less offset to fill the arches better and consider an 8" rim which can take the stock tyre with a tiny bit of stretch (as I do) or run 225/45/17s. Mine have an offset of 38 which gives me an extra 20mm track and looks better too.
So I have 17x8 with an offset of 38.
If you have a 7" rim you don't really want to go wider than the stock sizes. TRD etc use a 7.5" wide rim with 225/40/18's, but honestly 8" is preferable for this tyre width.
