After fitting all my stuff myself, alignment at my local place is only £75 (Hunter rig) guess I'm glad I got spanners

I paid £420 to blink Motorsport for fitting coilovers and whiteline camber bushes (much bigger job than your Eibach arms), alignment and set up.
I paid £596.40 to RRG Macclesfield (a main dealer in case you're not familiar with them) to fit coilovers, anti-roll bars, drop-links and rear arb braces, to fit mtec gearbox springs, refit some under bonnet clips that had been broken when my windscreen was replaced, fit and set a headlight adjuster, swap the lowering springs on the standard shocks I had back to the OEM springs and set the ride height and carry out a full alignment.
Based on my experiences I'd say what you've paid was definitely on the higher end.

    Hi all,
I'm running 18x9.5" +38 square and a 245 tyre for daily. Turbo is also going on in a couple weeks. The guy who is currently fitting my MeisterR coilovers has said that even with a fast road/track negative camber setup, the top of the wheels probably won't fit under the arches and that this is illegal on the road.
Is this something that will be picked up during MOT or any other time? Bearing in mind this is a very common setup on this car and i've seen it done plenty.
+40 would have been ideal in this size, but unfortunately i couldn't find that offset for the wheels i wanted.
I'd rather avoid pulling the arches if i can.

Err, did the £600 include the actual coilovers - £600 for fitting can't be right?

A slight protrusion isn't an MOT failure. Ignore him he doesn't know what he's talking about, perhaps someone else should fit the coilovers that knows what they are talking about?

They should fit just about (I know a 235 on a 9.5" +36 fits snug, so it will be close), however you may need to get some some adjustable rear arms. If you're located near to us you're more than welcome to pop down for us to have a look, we are based in Chester.

Try BG Motorsport in Silverstone, they're an Eibach distributor and cheaper than Demon Tweeks usually.

Its where I got my Eibach LCA kit from, it only took a day or two to arrive from Germany.

    Who's fitting your coilovers?
If they can't source something, call Amber Performance and speak to James, or Fensport and speak to Dan, or Tuning Developments and speak to Mike.
Someone should be able to hook you up.
Tell them you're from this forum and you may even score a discount!

By the way wait on choosing kits. There is a new turbo kit coming out and it's turbo is supposed to deliver linear power like a s.c. price will probably be competitive too. Not long now.

Too late, i found an AVO stage 3 billet with race breather and dump valve for just £2000, with 20k miles and previously fitted at fensport. They are gonna fit and tune tune so that will be taken care of responsibly. I'm not after more than 270/280 as don't want to risk the stock block either.
Obviously i'll be buying one of these coolers before i track it

    Stark performance A.T cooler.
I had a sprintex with methanol injection on my car running 240 wheel stock A.T trans. S.c is off the car now. Had zero issues with the trans at that pwr level.
I'm pretty sure the trans will handle more defo. But not much more. For road you will be fine. Hard track use is what will blow it as the heat will cause the clutch packs to just fail. I've really looked into this subject as I've had a manual car and a auto.
A new torque converter won't do nothing for longevity. I spoke to various auto box specialists and they all said you will have to rebuild your clutch packs to handle more torque. The peak hp is not the worry it's the torque.

Yeah you can put 350 on the box for sure it's been done but it's clear the box will give in no doubt. Proven. It's longevity you need.

If it's big bhp your after you choose the wrong 86.
You can run more power with a trans cooler but avoid the track. Or just a few Laps here and there.

By the way the box is straight out a older lexus and not designed for high performance

If going turbo no more than a stage 1. 2 at most. 250ish wheel I'd say will be your limit.

Centrifugal s.c will be your best bet as torque is thin until top end. They can also produce bigger numbers your looking for top end.

It's been proven they're made in the same place, whether official or not. Apparently this is why the Revos are being manufactured elsewhere.
FT86speedfactory do their own range of colours, they look better than the official ones IMO.
It's of little surprise you were told to avoid the cheaper ones by those who sell the official expensive ones

Starting a build log for my gt86 already done quite a few bits to it. A lot more to come.  Today I installed my wide kenwood head unit, it's got all the trimmings from Apple/android, dab, am/fm, cd/dvd, nav, Bluetooth ect all connected to the original USB, hdmi in the passenger footwell because why not :p. Grounded the hand brake wire so i can use any operation anytime. I probably should of taken pics of the installation  had to do some ghetto wiring to get the jbl system to work without an adapter. Looks great and sits perfectly flush! Routed the microphone around the dash pillar and fitted it above the rear view mirror and double sided the old microphone inside the dash so I can retrieve it if I ever go back to factory haha. I'll include some pics of the car! Never installed a stereo before but it seemed simple enough so if anyone needs help around the Midlands I'd be happy to lend a hand!

I just bought a set of these on Amazon (£4.65 for a set of 4). They arrived today and I haven't had a chance to fit them yet.
My main motivation was that they claim to "Reduce noise and vibration when closing the door." As I have a wife who appears to be congenitally incapable of shutting a car door without using all of her strength to slam it, I am (marginally) hopeful that they may help things a little bit.

Okay granted but the riggidity comes from the doors being more tightly fitted and not wobbling freely! Surely everyone should be welding their passenger door shut on their track car, imagine the rigiddity!

I would be surprised if it's an issue. The air filter won't matter, but it's not a good idea fitting anything other than OEM plugs. The stock ones last 60K miles after all. OEM equivalent is not OEM. I must admit I only fit OEM ignition components to my cars. The plugs aren't even that expensive.
