It is out in the sticks,satnav will get you almost there.Car park & entry is free,no refreshments/toilets on site but there is a local pub that can be walked to as well as a local church that does cream teas on a Sunday!! There is a height restriction of 6ft ( 1.8m ) going into the car park. If the Roman era is your thing,Silchester is fascinating with it's Amphitheater & town layout.If Roman towns aren't your thing,it's still worth a visit for the walk & picnic,bring the family/dog!!
