smudge 1020 Report post Posted May 31, 2014 After just 2 weeks of ownership, I can safely say this is the best car I have ever had...and I've had a few in my short 7 years of driving! Picked her up with just 5,600miles on the clock and have already racked up nearly 800miles in just 2 weeks. Great fun getting around town and on twisty B roads, but also extremely comfortable and economical when I had to drive to Doncaster and back, over 450miles to 1 tank of fuel! Few pictures of the day I got her: And after a well deserved 3 hour TLC session today, love the colour in the sun! Some big plans coming up, so watch this space! Whilst I won't ever tell what I'm getting until it's on the car (I like to be a bit different and therefore keeping you in suspense is more fun ) my list of mods so far: Alloys (ordered) Track alloys Coilovers Complete exhaust system from headers to backbox New rear lights Front lip, side skirts and rear spats New boot spoiler Supercharged I'll be using a colour scheme I had on my Audi A3 a few years back. Again, it's different but I'm sure you'll see why soon enough 1 Angelina reacted to this

smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 5, 2014 Picked this bad boy up tonight  Invidia Q300 catback, just waiting for the rest of the exhaust bits to turn up now Had a 530mile round trip today, car loves a cruise on the motorway, not bad MPG either: 30miles to 3/4 tank so could easily get 450 from a tank And just a moody shot in the car park Big thank you to Tom for the Invidia, top bloke! Pleasure meeting you today fella

smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 6, 2014 Invidia Q300 catback exhaust fitted today, 1st big mod. Out with the old: In the with new: Sound hasn't changed too much, just a bit deeper. Waiting on all the other bits for the exhaust to get some real noise And I got told that my wheels should be with me next week, about 2 weeks before I was expecting them! smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 7, 2014 UEL headers, overpipe and high flow cat are all on the way
smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 20, 2014 Well, well, well...what do we have here? A box over 2 meters long! Containing: 5 Axis kit with TRD spoiler to get her looking like this: Borla UEL headers Bonnet dampers Auto-fold side mirror module Still waiting on alloys, couple more exhaust bits and the ultimate power mod to come
rob275 1817 Report post Posted June 20, 2014 Can you post up some pics of the inside of the pipes on the Borla header? as it's one I was considering amongst others.
smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 21, 2014 Made a visit to a friend with a lift to get the UEL headers fitted today Looks like the box was made for the boot?! Up on the ramps Old headers New headers Comparison of the 2 Can start to hear the boxer engine burble, but until the cats are taken out, it's still a fairly quiet system. Cats should be out soon, just waiting on parts to arrive from the USA Bonnet dampers fitted Makes the bonnet sit fairly high, but much better than the stupid prop thing And finished the evening off with a well deserved clean, mandatory snowfoam picture

OMG someone pass me a tissue Rays Gram Lights 57C6's, 18" x 9.5J ET40 Managed to fit all 4 boxes in the car (just) Finally got them home to unpack! smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 27, 2014 More bits waiting for me when I got home from work - Berk high flow cat and overpipe Overpipe: High flow cat: Comparison of old vs new Deletes the 2 OEM cats which are very restrictive, and also weighs noticeably less Had a few issues with fitting at the start. Berk HFC has a flat connection: And the mid pipe of the Invidia has a conical connection: So it was blowing like a bitch Then, I realised I was being a massive bellend took the cone gasket off the standard exhaust And stuck it on the Berk high flow cat... Ta-dah! All fitted now, so my exhaust is: Borla unequal length (UEL) headers Berk overpipe Berk high flow cat Invidia Q300 exhaust Gives a gorgeous Boxer rumble, but isn't loud until you gun it. Will get videos soon 2 Keethos and Leosille reacted to this
smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 You should be okay with a supercharger, Smudge. Provided you go for a decent HFC and not a cheapskate version - mine still meets MOT requirements with turbo, but it's not a sub- £200 version. Spec K Berk are a good make from previous experience Although I knew a couple of guys on the 350z forum that blew through a HFC or 2 with high powered SC'd cars

CHOSENMAN007 81 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 I'm going for a Cobra non res HFC. Sheer fact they are the loudest front pipes out there ; ) according to members that had them on here. should complement the cat delete manifold and Hks exhaust. Lol
Riceburner 284 Report post Posted June 29, 2014 I'm going for a Cobra non res HFC. Sheer fact they are the loudest front pipes out there ; ) according to members that had them on here. should complement the cat delete manifold and Hks exhaust. Lol Your centre resonator and rear silencers regulate the sound not the front sections
CHOSENMAN007 81 Report post Posted June 29, 2014 Hmmmmm I think other wise. Once the cat comes out the front pipe it get louder as the rest is all piping.its the cats that release air flow... Either way I'm going to be louder than I am. As I'm only one cat delete at the moment to an only 200cell cat intact ; )
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted June 29, 2014 If you think about it, it's the rear silencer that makes the biggest difference to how loud an exhaust is. But obviously the sound is the loudest at the exit of the head. So although it will be quitened down to an extent with the cats the rear silencer plays the bigger part in noise reduction. Comparing the sound with the cats removed or the rear silencer removed would result in it being loudest with no rear silencer.
CHOSENMAN007 81 Report post Posted June 29, 2014 Ah ok cool. So either way its a win win for me. Ace!
smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 29, 2014 Smudge we need to meet up at some point, definitely want to hear what the exhaust sounds like. Will post a video up soon, but it sounds a lot better in the flesh obviously 1 GT86-Ian reacted to this
smudge 1020 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Quick video of the exhaust now, need to get a flyby to get the real noise. But a big improvement over standard! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSRxrlwOppk She likes to smoke... And de-badge the rear also, much better without the Toyota and GT86 badges
CHOSENMAN007 81 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Sounds good mate. I'm impressed. But personally not the quality Motorsport sound I want.I prefer high pitch of a e.l to the low rumble of a u.e.l Maybe with a blitz or Hks muffler.. Hmm now that's a combo to try with the u.e.l manifold. But overall good to listen too. Defo a fan of de- badging. I took the lot off. Even the emblem. Good call smudge.
