  1. Hi All, Thought we'd start a little thread to keep a track of things with our own in house GT86, we've owned it from new in May 2013 and its been a LOT of fun, lovely car to live with everyday, and fantastic on twisty lanes as i'm sure all of you already know Anyhow, we picked the car up in May 2013, having a set of Rota Torque Drift wheels in 18x9.5 ET35 in Bronze waiting for it at the workshop, along with a set of BC Racing BR Series coilovers. Those went on the car approximately 40 minutes after collecting it Along with some subtle decals along the sides after taking inspiration from the optional sticker kit from Toyota. We used the car for a little while like this, letting the engine break in nicely and not giving it too much abuse from day 1. Several hundred miles later, we popped her onto the Dyno and did a few base runs to see what we we're working with. The plot is our car, having done around 10 pulls, the power varied from 179bhp to 184bhp, this being the highest it made. From there we designed our exhaust system, second decat, overpipe and equal length manifold, along with a remap on the ECUTeK software! This saw us at a peak of 205bhp, smoothening out the torque dip area hugely with the manifold along with the remap. The car was completely different to drive as to be expected, and drove a lot better than the improvements would show on paper. Having explored that area we then moved onto forced induction... We designed our inhouse turbo kit, choosing to mount the turbo right up top at the front of the engine bay, with the factory airbox out of the way it leaves a perfect area for the turbo to sit along with external wastegate and downpipe. We chose to run a larger frame turbo from the get go as to keep the kit 'future proof'. Onto the Dyno the car went and began tuning, running via a TiAL MVR 44m external wastegate, we get precise and perfect boost control everytime which is exactly what we wanted when forcing air into an engine of this caliber. After time on the dyno and at a very modest 5psi or 0.35bar we managed to boost our horsepower by 94bhp upto 278bhp and boosted our peak torque from 160lb.ft upto 230lb.ft. Still on the stock clutch, fuel pump, injectors and so on. Needless to say this has transformed the car into something very special, no longer is there the need to rev the car to get it to go, joining motorways and picking up speed feels effortless. The power band below 4000rpm is night and day different to a factory car. It has to be experienced to explain it fully The car has took hours on the dyno along with months on the road and now thousands of miles, gathering mileage and data logs in varying environments to ensure its longevity and reliability. We're glad to say it hasn't missed a beat and on a good run we still return 44mpg We also added a powerflex rear gearbox mount insert, along with their rear differential and rear subframe inserts, these have made a nice improvement to the car, without adding any negative input to the daily drivability of the car. Ontop of this we fitted some KSport 8Pot/356mm Front Brakes along with KSport 4Pot/356mm Rear Brakes in 'caution yellow'. The car now stops on a sixpence and adds a lot of confidence when pushing on into braking zones. We removed the stock spoiler and replaced it with a TRD version which really finishes off the exterior of the car for us. We're a big fan of the factory bodyshape The car also has the GFB Lightweight Pulley kit installed. I'll add to this as we continue to push forward with things, we have fuel system, drivetrain and electronic boost control going onto the car very shortly and will be winding the boost up some more to form the next stage to our turbo package More to follow! Thanks for reading Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd

    Fuel System Upgrades

Hi Everyone, Just to let you know we now have a very affordable solution to upgrading your fuel system for forced induction owners High Capacity Fuel pump kit GT86/BRZ £110.70 + vat 246 Litres Per Hour Simple installation Complete with 'O' rings and in tank filter. Also a High Capacity Port Injector Set £299 + vat 540cc (We can also supply 660, 770 & 1100 cc Injector kits, please enquire) A complete set of 4 port injectors with wiring tails and necessary seals. Injector sets are precisely flow matched to within 1%. Each injector within each set is individually numbered and results for each injector are listed on a detailed flow sheet included with the set. Injectors are flow tested and rated at 43.5psi (3Bar) at 90ºF fuel temperature using CF-16B calibration fluid. Superior short pulse width control and tight manufacturing tolerances make these injectors easy to tune and provide great driveability. Every injector is covered against failure caused by defects in original manufacture by our 12 month warranty. The injectors require you to change the injector plug on the wiring harness. This can be done by soldering in the pigtails (included) to replace the plugs currently on your harness. This is our preferred method of install due to limited space in the injector area. Optional plug & play wiring adaptors are available to order. Best Regards Adrian

    Fensport GT86R 2014 Upgrades :)

Hi All, A *little* update on what's been happening to our GT86R this year (for those that haven't seen it at BHP or TSS) After finishing 2nd overall in the Toyota Sprint Series last year, Team Fensport have been very busy over the winter "off season". The aim was always to make the car significantly faster at the end of each year so changes for the 2014 season had to include more grip before more power!! The target? to get on top of the GT4's!!! First and most obvious is the fabulous Blitz Aerospeed wide arch kit as used on the Blitz Racing project Time Attack car and also Ken Nomura's Blitz Drift car in Japan. The kit was shipped over and we were so pleased with the perfect fit straight from the box! The Blitz kit allows for an 120mm track width on the rear and 110mm on the front. The arches have been cut out to provide more space for the new Rota 18 x 9.5" wheels which are clad in 265 wide Toyo R888's all round. Additional aero parts include custom front and rear canards, TRD aero fins, a higher rear wing and custom rear diffuser. Blitz Aerospeed test fitting The front bumper is a beautiful moulding, fits better than stock! and also can work with or without the front arch extensions Rear arch extension After test fitting the arch extensions we could cut out the original arches to make room for the 9.5 x 18 Rota Grid wheels You can see just how wide the 265 Toyo R888's are here The front end! Using an Mishimoto alloy rad and our own intercooler, we also added a modified front alloy bar (from a Lexus IS200) and have custom made air deflector shields and air intake. Before graphics Ready for graphics Graphics were designed in house by our expert graphic's designer who sometimes doubles up as a map man, mechanic, chief fixer, agony aunt, dogs body etc You have to have a plan! With the new found grip the team have also increased spring rates on the BC Racing external resevoir coilovers. Also upgraded is the Avo turbocharger to the billet version which offers the same incredible response alongside a 20% increase in airflow. The car has also been re mapped using Ecutek software to get the most out of the 108 ron race fuel, along with electronic "in gear" boost control which helps with traction in the lower gears. An M Factory Carbon propshaft has been fitted to reduce rotational mass. This is a prototype one and full details will be published shortly. 2014 Tech Spec Engine: Standard internals. Avo Billet turbo kit with custom 3" Blitz Nur Spec exhaust. Fensport Lightweight Pulley kit. Mapped by Fensport using Ecutek and Race Rom. Millers Nanotec 0w30 oil. Hel Oil cooler. Testing went fantastic with only shock absorbers, ride height and tyre pressures being adjusted in time for the 1st event. 27/04/14 Round 1 Toyota Sprint Series We couldn't of asked for a better start to the new season, after just 1 run, Adrian was reporting back and saying the car had incredible grip, great power and perfect balance. This car deserves a kiss!!! The car ran faultless and went on to win on it's debut Read all about it here Fensport New GT86R 1st Overall Blyton park Round 1!!
