    Gt86 price

Having bought very expensive BMW 540i and 335d cars new in the past, and my partner having bought a rather pricy Audi TTS recently, I feel like I've got a lot of car for the money at £23k for my nearly new BRZ. It is in every way up to the Audi and, in my opinion, a better more involving drive.

    GT86 TRD STYLE SPOILERS

Thanks, they're really nice but I snapped up a set of Rota Blitz for a price I couldn't resist.

    Best catback exhaust

Having had an HKS Silent Hi-Power exhaust on my supercharged CR-Z, I can attest to the power part, it's through-flow was excellent. However, despite being resonated it was noisy and had a nasty drone just around motorway cruising speed from 75-85. My advice would be to hear any exhaust you're contemplating purchasing in the flesh before buying.

Excited to join the GT86 club

Congratulations. Some points: - keep your stock wheels and put winter tyres on them for the bad winters - consider springs rather than coilovers since yours is a daily driver. I'm mega-pleased with my H&R Super Sports springs, great lowering and ride quality - with the OFH + OFT, you'll get the power. If you want to keep it quiet, consider keeping the stock exhaust and 2nd cat Enjoy it!

    Your Fuel Economy?

I reset the 'A' trip counter on every refuelling. Currently showing 35.7 so my consumption is fairly steady.
  6. Yes, it didn't increase mine either, with Trinity via Adrian Flux who are excellent with modded vehicles.

    Just saying hi

Hi and welcome. I've had a lot of cars in my time but the BRZ is by far the best handling. Not the fastest (my remapped BMW 335d Coupe was) but definitely the most rewarding to drive. Good luck with the insurance.

GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

It's quite infectious. Even overtaking on the motorway is easier now, drop down to 5th and you've got some real go (and a great soundtrack).

    Tyre pressure monitoring system

I've just fitted new alloys and the dreaded TPMS light has come on. I see that I can order replacement sensors but how they're paired with the ECU I cannot work out. There's also the huge hassle of having the tyres removed to install them, so it would be natural to wait for when new tyres are required. Is it possible to disable the warning light come MOT time?

Post your GT86 / BRZ pic of day!

Thanks! No, I put 225/45 R17 on them.

Post your GT86 / BRZ pic of day!

Taken today after I fitted my Rota Blitz 17 x 8 wheels. I'm thrilled with the overall look and the handling.

    Tyre Choice(s)

I badly needed a new set of tyres for my new Rota Blitz 17 x 8 alloys so I ordered from ProTyre who are just down the road in Micheldever. Went for Falken Azenis FK-510, which are new and replace the FK-453. 225/45 R17 94Y XL worked out at £75.10 each fully fitted after the online discount, not bad at all. First impressions are very good with assured handling, at least as good a ride as the Michelin Primacies and, to my surprise, lower road noise. It now feels like my BRZ has the right level of grip for the increased torque from the TD NA tuning kit, so I'm well pleased.

    New Wheels or Spacers?

After all that I've ended up buying a lovely set of used Rota Blitz 17" alloys with ET of 35 giving perfect fitment. Very pleased! Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

    New Wheels or Spacers?

I'm trying to decide on whether I should go for a new set of wheels or keep the rather nice BRZ 17" wheels and install spacers. Or even just leave things be? Grip, even with the silly Michelin Primacies, isn't as bad as I had expected, largely due to the excellent chassis. The wheels look nice but when I have the car lowered by 20mm fitment is going to look a bit poor. So, do I install something like the H&R 20mm spacers which extend the hubs? Then perhaps swap to Yokohamas when ready? Or do I go for 18" wheels with the correct ET and 225 tyres?

Gearbox issue improved by thinner oil

It did help but the notchiness is not entirely gone. Much better when warmed up, though.

Gearbox issue improved by thinner oil

My newish BRZ does the difficult-into-2nd when changing down thing, worse when cold but always a little notchy.

    Starlink & Navigation Apps

Has anyone successfully updated the Starlink firmware? It seems that I'll need to go to a dealer to get this done. This system is shocking in its lack of support. I'd really like to get Waze working on it, but no chance at the moment.

    Starlink & Navigation Apps

Is anyone using a navigation app on their phone connected to Starlink? How do you find it and would you recommend it? I see that Subaru are recommending Magellan or TomTom. Do these work in the UK?

    Best catback exhaust

With the TD catless manifold installed, the car is already a bit louder than stock. My advice would be to have that work done first if you ever intend doing it. I realise now that the stock exhaust is fine. There is a lovely snarl above 3500rpm (UEL manifold) but for everyday use I wouldn't want it any louder, and there are no power gains to speak of unless you're going forced induction.

I forgot to mention: +16-20bhp across the range +30 ft.lb. in the midrange

GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

I've just got back from Warrington after a day with @Mike@TD.co.uk doing some work on the BRZ. This is what was done: TD UEL exhaust manifold TD overpipe Titanium heat wrap K&N panel filter ECUTeK remap H&R Super Sport lowering springs Powerflex front camber bolts MTEC shifter springs Installation Before/after dyno runs Fast road wheel alignment I have the following initial observations although I want to do much more driving to fully learn how it responds now: Torque There is obviously a great wedge of torque available in the midrange but also across the range which really transforms flexibility and makes the car a joy to drive. Great pickup, too, with the ECUTeK giving fast throttle response. I was keeping up with some fast cars on the drive back! Sound Although still quiet with the stock exhaust, there is a V8-like snarl in the cabin when giving it beans due to the UEL beat and greater power. Ride Just like my experience with Eibach progressive springs, the H&R springs lose nothing in ride quality, yet stiffen up noticeably in corners and lower the car by about 25mm, which is perfect for me as my car is my daily commuter. Gear Shift As someone else observed, it snicks precisely like a rifle bolt. So thank you to Mike for being helpful, friendly and doing great work. One more happy customer!

GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

I'm booked in for the NA Tuning package plus H&R lowering springs tomorrow. I'm still loving my BRZ and I don't subscribe to the view that it's underpowered, it's already faster than my supercharged CR-Z was. However, although the torque dip is not terrible I can feel it and it would be great to improve the midrange grunt as that's just where you want on-demand torque to be in road driving. So I'm looking forward to meeting Mike and experiencing some TD goodness. I'll report back soon.

    The Tyre Thread

No mention of Hankook here? Just for information, the Ventus V12 Evo is the best tyre I've used on previous cars after trying Toyo, Bridgestone, Goodyear etc. They grip like glue on cornering and are very confidence inspiring in the wet. Falken Azenis not bad but a little way behind.

    Hello from Basingstoke

Yes it comes with a deflation warning system (as I discovered yesterday) but not pressure readings for the four wheels. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk
