I'm pretty new to this forum but have been a GT86 owner for a couple of years now. Our company GT86 is undergoing changes to make it a little more track orientated. The standard car is excellent as a day to day car, but we wanted to make it a little tighter, handle a little better and go a bit better.
Here are a few pics of the work we've done so far. It started off completely standard - the first thing we did was to fit some Ohlins suspension. This probably wouldn't have been the first modification I'd usually carry out but we got them with the car and couldn't resist trying them out.

    Handled well on track:

Next up was to tune the car with ECUTek - quite a complicated engine with variable in/ex cams, port and direct injection - so plenty to play with.
Managed to get a a few more powers - this was on a completely standard car, with no hardware changes.

To tighten up the suspension a little we opted to go for a full superpro kit - we've been using these on the 350Z and 370Z for years and it transforms the feel of the car

Love the Superpro finish and quality - much better than most. Hopefully will stay looking good.
We've also experimented with decat pipes, EL headers and inlet plenum spacers - all giving positive results after the necessary ECU tweeks.
And finally, where we are now - about three quarters of the way through a turbo conversion:

Mapping to follow - hopefully it'll liven things up a bit. Just hope the roads dry out soon...

Adam9 got a reaction from Tareim in Speaker Baffle Template
As I've been unable to find this anywhere else I've created a printable template for cutting your own front door speaker baffles.
The preferable way to do this is to print the PDF with no scaling, it should print to the correct dimensions on A4 but check the measurement guides against a ruler before you start work to make sure they are correct. The guides should be accurate to within less than 1mm, if they are out then the template has been scaled by your printer or application and you need to try again.
The second option is to use the attached PNG file and insert it into a document yourself in something like word or publisher and play around with scaling until it prints perfectly (you will probably waste a lot of paper). You will need margins set very small to fit this on the page at full size.
I haven't tested these myself yet but I have sized them against existing adaptors and they look perfect. I don't believe the GT86/BRZ needs the outer corner thickness reducing so the baffles can be a single thickness with a hole in the centre.
    For the last time:
DO NOT waste time and materials cutting against this template if the scales don't match perfectly against a ruler or tape measure etc.
If you've stumbled in here searching for baffles for a different  model of Toyota then these might do the trick as well, this layout is used in multiple models.

Ross I have spoken to Alex Jaskowski are we are happy to share/help with meets as we are based in Cheltenham and had a chat about possible meets in Bristol/Cotswolds/Malverns/Wales?
From here there are some good routes down through to Abergavenny via Ross on Wye and could meet at the big carpark where the cafe is.
I am going on tour of the Morgan factory fairly soon and I can ask about group booking if anybody would be interested.

Thanks Lauren, that's really helpful. I agree reflecting off the windscreen is probably not the ideal location for the tweeters, I will probably try a few locations. Shame the usual A pillar location isn't available on the GT but yours look like the next best option.
Plan is to replace the head unit, add a MiniDSP, 4 channel amp and run it 3 channel  to a set of probably morel Tempo  speakers in the doors and a Peerless XLS 10 Sub if I can get it all to fit. Just trying to figure it all out before I start buying things.

FYI, for a cheap solution to help keep the boot lining up in the middle, I managed to nab the polystyrene block that holds the tyre foam etc. from someone else who didn't need it anymore (annoyingly mine was thrown out when they fitted the JBL system which was a bit annoying), then cut out the inside so the sub can sit inside while keeping the boot lining up in the middle.

Also, think about putting tweeters in the door panel:

Much better than in the more compromised position on top of the dash.

I agree, good audio is difficult in these cars as they are built like tin cans, I have the JBL system and the sub used to rattle a bit, tightening up the screws and sticking on some sound deadening got rid of that. The door cards are by far the worst, anything above 80Hz and they rattle like crazy. Deadening and sealing the doors will do wonders, i plan to do this soon and add a crossover to the door speakers, they struggle covering full range.

Ayy, my jbl is in the spare wheel well. Hate the way the boot liner sags over it though

Rattles were pretty much non existent in summer. Only a couple of little ones now, but really depends. Some really bass heavy songs have no rattle issues whatsoever, other lighter songs rattle a bit. Guess it depends on the frequency, but I've found low bass is ok, mid bass is where there are more issues.

Thanks Keethos, many plans as time and funds allow.
    In some sort of order:
    Premium club membership ;-)
    New headunit and ICE install
    Reverse camera
Replace wheels and add TPMS - probably bronze JR11s unless something pretty and forged comes around cheap
New exhaust - nothing too loud but a bit more aggressive
    Tuning Developments manifold and remap
    Master cylinder brace
With luck in the more distant future :
    TD turbo install

After lurking around here for a few weeks doing research I finally picked up a 2013 Pearl white GT86 at the weekend, over the moon with it so far!
Currently on KW V3s with aftermarket 19" Staggered wheels and Toms rear lights so looks superb but will consider going to a square setup on 18's when the tires need replacing.
