Neal 111 Report post Posted February 12, 2017 Good stuff Lewis. That brings us up to 8 members. Others half's are welcome to. I'm planning on bringing two mx5 drivers along trying to talk them into a change of car.
Toybaru1 15 Report post Posted February 12, 2017 Try and pop over for it, the sniff of a Sunday full english may do the trick!
Neal 111 Report post Posted February 12, 2017 @Toybaru the full English breakfast is on the menu as far as I know. What a great start to the day big breakfast car talk and the option of a fun (hopefully) drive. All before lunch 1 Toybaru1 reacted to this
Neal 111 Report post Posted February 13, 2017 Before I post a more detailed description of the drive route are the any roads people want to see or recommend remember we are aiming for Jodrell bank. Also a lesson learnt from the last drive fif you want to bring a 2 way radio they are useful.
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted February 13, 2017 Not sure if it works but the B5392 from Broken Cross in Macc, which crosses the A34 and comes out at the Yellow Broom near Jodrell Bank is a tight and twisty road. It's normally quiet.
Neal 111 Report post Posted February 13, 2017 I'll take that suggestion Lauren. Cuts out a corner involving the A34. Anyone else suggestions?
Guest Report post Posted February 14, 2017 I'm a big fan of the A54, but it's tight and twisty. Awesome though!
Neal 111 Report post Posted February 21, 2017 Breakfast drive route is finished pending a recon run in the first week of March. Both Lauren's and Dons suggestions have been planed in. I'll screen shot the map when I'm next in my computer. Anyone else thinking of coming I'm giving the victorian our estimated numbers on Thursday. As mentioned previously if the numbers are good they would be interested in making this a regular occurrence. Subject to the breakfast being of a standard of excellence appropriate to the drivers club.
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted February 21, 2017 On 14/02/2017 at 8:56 AM, don said: I'm a big fan of the A54, but it's tight and twisty. Awesome though! The A54 is great, I commuted on it for two and a half years. I wouldn't call it tight and twisty though, it's a fast A road. Wait and see how you find the B road I've picked! Neal 111 Report post Posted February 21, 2017 Quick tease of the route before I post the map Bramhall to woodford Past the Dean water to Adlington Adlington through macclesfield to Sutton Fork left past the Lords pot pub. Onto the A54 then the A523 through Gawsworth Take darkness to the B5392 follow to the end turning right onto the A34 Taking A357 towards Chelford Right to marthol heading for moberly on the B5085 Knutsford next then Ashley via castle mill lane which ends at the A538 Through the runway tunnels out of wilmslow on the A5102 back to the start. May need some modifications due to what we find on the recon run but should be good. If you know of any road works traffic hot spots please let me know. I've had a look at some cycling website and there dosnt a pear to be any blasted bicycist events on this drive date. 2 Lauren and Hoax reacted to this
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 Good work, Neal sounds like a nice route and should be quiet too at that time.
Rich 378 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 There's roadworks near the airport tunnels, don't think that it will be a problem though (we turn away from the roadworks).

Neal 111 Report post Posted February 26, 2017 The directions look worse than the drive actually is. For some reason Google feels the need to tell you to take the second exit at a roundabout then remind you to exit the roundabout again.
Neal 111 Report post Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) If anyone would like the guide emailed to them for their Google maps let me know and I will forward it to you. If anyone is bringing a Co driver I'm happy to print out a few copies. Let me know as wasting paper is a pet hate of mine. The victorian is tweeking it's menu so I will post that soon. I'm speaking to the landlord of my office block to see if we can use the secure gated car park at my office as it's directly across the road from the victorian and offers more space then the public car park. Lauren 2259 Report post Posted February 26, 2017 Great work, Neal. If you could email it to: lauren@trackdayqueen.com that'd be great.
Neal 111 Report post Posted February 28, 2017 Right all. Everything is now fully organised We have use of my works car park if we need it. It's free parking so probably recommended. So far Lauren is the only person to have asked for the directions emailing to her. Anyone else wanting them emailed?
