DanJ 374 Report post Posted August 27, 2015 Schroth have some good advice on do's and don'ts for full harness installs on their website, its very easy to get this wrong and end up with an install where you can end up badly injured in a big shunt https://www.schrothracing.com/sdocs/2009_Competition_Instructions.pdf
DanJ 374 Report post Posted August 27, 2015 I'm three doors down from Grand Prix Racewear at work, let me know if you're ever in the area. Willans are also on the Silverstone site and are a very helpful harness supplier.

smudge 1020 Report post Posted August 28, 2015 You are only allowed to buy Takata harnesses btw. GSM do a package with Takata harnesses http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/takata-race-toyota-gt-86-bucket-seat/prod_4336.html But I'm not a fan of the seat I'm so picky! Heading up to Grand Prix Racewear tomorrow to try out some seats. I'm stuck between about 3 Sparco's, 2 Cobra's and 2 Corbeau's
smudge 1020 Report post Posted August 28, 2015 Scrap that, they've only got 2 of the seats I want to try available. Heading up to GSM Performance in Nottingham if they've got more options in stock for me to try out
KevinA 695 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 5mm steel plate and double lock nut with washers, passed by MSA scrutineer. 3 Tareim, smudge and Keethos reacted to this
smudge 1020 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 Isn't having the straps that long to the mounting point a bit frowned upon though? Think I've made my mind up after visiting GSM Performance today and having a try of a few seats. Just need to do some measurements to make sure and then I'll be ordering soon
KevinA 695 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 No or it wouldn't pass scrutineering, angle is what is more important.
smudge 1020 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 Sure I read something about distance from seat to mounting point too. Ah well Will post up pictures of my choice when it's all confirmed
Tareim 343 Report post Posted August 29, 2015 @KevinA how did you manage to attach it around the seat, did you use any existing bolts such as the standard seat buckle clip thingy
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted August 30, 2015 Sam, Kev will have used the stock lapbelt bolt holes, with an eyebolt for the harnesses to clip into.
KevinA 695 Report post Posted August 30, 2015 Got Scroth eyebolts that use the original lap belt point. Can put a picture up for you later.
