New guy - Pearl White 86 in Hertfordshire

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! *waves*

I'm very new to all of this, though I've started my forum outings from the GT86OC and figured I should broaden and meet some more like-minded 86/BRZ drivers around.

I've just sold my Civic Type R and am set to be picking up a GT86 in Pearl White on Friday, really can't wait. My plan didn't really work out as well as I had hoped; I didn't realise how quick it would take for me to sell my Type R so when it finally went I was left without a car to get to work!

Fortunately my boss gave me one of his cars to drive for now, and finally found a car suitable so I've checked it over, put a deposit down, and it's now t-minus 1 day until I go pick it up!

I hope I'll learn a lot from here, meeting loads of friendly people and hopefully seeing a few out at a meet. I like taking photos so photoshoots are imminent.

:)

Welcome to the club :) Any plans for modifications at all? Did you tinker with your type R? Loads of friendly guys on here that are willing to help out, so you should always feel at home!

Look forward to seeing you out and about this year, trust me you'll love the transition from FWD to RWD!

Thanks James :) I look to get a Milltek exhaust and some wheels, and to have a lowered a fraction to blend the wheels in with the arch gap.

I did a few bits and pieces to the car, you know, just to make it my own; an individual's car. The forum certainly feels friendly! Thank you I've only test driven it about 8 times, drove a few cars so I know this one is really going to make me smile.

My Type R which I sold on Sunday, still terribly miss it :( :

Hi Mate,

Welcome to the club, as James said, you're going to love it! Including the funky lot on here (we are all rather weird) :)

Haha thank you!

I like cleaning my cars so I've been told I'm weird. Weird is good.

Lovely looking EP3 that mate! The FN2 just never looked as good in my opinion. My friend has a supercharged FN2 and it does shift I have to say, but when you get behind the wheel of the 86 you realise why you chose it over anything else,

I think wheels and springs are top of everyone's list to be honest. The stock wheels do get eaten up into the arches and the car sits far too high. Just watch out as once you catch the bug you can't stop :)

Welcome Kesler.

You like polishing? You'll find one or two people around who like that sort of thing. :)

I like the pics of your EP3. Deffo better looking than the (now let's be polite) 'delightful' offering Honda have churned out currently, despite it being FWD. My mum used to have a pale yellow Civic 1.6 L (or something like that), in France many years ago. I drove it a few times out there and it seemed pretty reasonable. No idea what the R Type's like to drive though. Apart from a Mk1 Escort 1300 Sport (bought for her by my dad), my mum's never been one for sporty cars. She's gone Yariz now. Anyway, that's my Honda history completed in less than three lines. ^_^

Cheers

Welcome to the Club, glad you could join us and congrats on the purchase!

Thank you! I'm so pleased with it - I may do a progress thread to keep up to date with things :)

Thanks James! I do miss it loads but now when I get out of the house to go to work and I see my new pride and joy - I think to myself; I worked hard and I deserve this :)

Yeah I have got an exhaust, lowering springs and wheels are en route, but I think I'll start a progress thread to keep a diary of my car :)

Welcome aboard! :)

You may want to re-evaluate getting a Milltek. They are prone to cracking. I'm currently on my third!

Thanks Lauren!

And thanks for the heads up - I'm one of those guys who likes to do the research and swot up on things and yes I've seen it on various forums about this, and also that the warranty replacement is not too good as well!

Not to mention that the warranty only applies to the original end user, and not to the current user :/

My boss has been nagging me to save up for the Milltek but for all that money I just couldn't shell out straight away. I went for a Direnza exhaust for a snip of the price, if it breaks then oh well, for little money I'm not too bothered :)

I love my miltek till I got beached down a lane last night and ended up ripping the back box off :(

Yikes! Did you get it all back together again??

Hi Muskateer,

I do indeed, I'm pants at it but I'll give it a go! and thank you for the kinds comments (everyone) about my beloved EP3. The car meant a lot to me but there is now the pearl white 86 sitting outside which meant a lot more to me :)
