About Me

Single (happily divorced) guy, living on the south coast. Moved to the Sunshine Coast, Australia, from Fareham, Hants in 2004 and returned in 2018. In 2012 a chiropractor effectively broke my neck in 3 places leaving me permanently disabled, with constant pain and permanent partial paralysis of a lot of upper torso muscles. Luckily I am still able to drive, though nothing line the distances I used to be able to.

I bought my MY15 GTS86 (“Lola”) new while in Aus back in 2014. I went to the local Toyota dealership to look at SUVs with the then missus and ended up ordering a Tornado Grey GTS86 (Auto - wife insisted, something I now regret so much, though I will say the auto gearbox in manual mode is very good). When I returned to the U.K. in 2018, a newly free man again (after serving 23 years!) I just had to ship Lola back with me.

Seeing as my Toyota warranty (and the extended I took out) was only valid in Australia, I started talking to Fensport a full 3 months before actually moving back. As soon as I got back Lola made me take her to Fensport to carry out a few little upgrades. As much as I loved the her she told me that she wasn’t happy with her torque and overall power. After the addition of:

  • HKS GT2 (I think it was this model) Supercharger and accompanying bits and bobs
  • Cobra Sports Cat back resonated exhaust system
  • ECUTek RaceROM with programming license, 3 maps, courtesy of Adrian, and the handy Bluetooth dongle
  • Kenwood DMX7018DABS head unit, a Cobra Cat 1 Thatcham alarm and immobiliser, front parking sensors, and a nice dash cam

Lola felt like she had a totally new lease of life, with an incredibly vicious wild streak when she’s allowed to go play.

More recently, after several track days at Goodwood, Lola asked me for a few more bits and pieces. After a near disaster she wanted Hawk pads all round, and the addition of a set of Tein Flex As supplemented by the EDFC Active Pro system. The Teins are fitted now (thanks to Yukiko for all the help and support) and the EDFC Active Pro system is imminent. So far Lola loves it, and she also loves me too ❤️. Definitely a relationship made in heaven.

I’m looking forward to attending as many owners’ club meets as I can to chat to other enthusiasts, and to put faces to usernames from the forums.

I have also built up fairly comprehensive set of tools etc since getting back so happy to help out anyone local to me here on the south coast, within the bounds of of my physical limitations that is 😊
