    Taking the FI plunge

Hi Ade, We've no issues with melting things around the turbo area. We do wrap the downpipe (or ceramic coat for those that request it) and also use a turbo jacket/blanket. This does an excellent job of managing heat around the turbo. IATs have not become a concern for us at this stage. Customers can buy the stage 1 kit currently which runs just 5psi. IATs on the dyno, the road or the track have never raised alarms. We do run 8psi on our own car currently but that is only on our car at this moment in time. We've tailored the boost/torque curve at the higher boost level to 270lb.ft (versus 240lb.ft at 5psi) which from the open days we've done is less torque than some other setups we've seen on stock motors. What we haven't ran on our machine yet is a Cosworth or Harrop setup, would like to do so to get some data/feedback on those also, if you're ever in the area... Thanks Mike

    WANTED: Cat Back Exhaust

If you remove either of the CATs then yes the volume will increase. A stock front and second CAT, with our particular system, won't cause you any track day noise issues. Thanks Mike

GT86 Turbo Kit & BRZ Turbo Kit from Tuning Developments

@Paul - As of yet only EL for the turbo installs. We don't see any reason why at the low boost of 5psi the numbers wouldn't be very close to each other when comparing EL & UEL. Turnaround is usually 3 - 4 days, most people tend to drop off one weekend and collect the following weekend, easier for travel arrangements and removes any unneeded pressure to get it finished Thanks Mike
  15. We currently have more stock of our resonated CAT back systems in stock As an offer for GT86.org.uk members we are offering free fitting on the CAT back system for a short time also! That would be £576.00 inc VAT & Fitting for a CAT Back exhaust for GT86 or BRZ. Exactly the same system as we run on our in house GT86 Thanks Mike

GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

Stock exhaust is excellent for noise removal. @Nicebiscuit can confirm Varelco, CAT options were not possible for us i'm afraid as cheaper units we don't feel will last long enough and more expensive units just make the overall cost far too high. The technicalities in the MOT law in regards to different CATs was also a factor we took into consideration Thanks Mike

GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

Any manifold without a CAT increases the volume of the exhaust considerably. For the turbo guys it isn't so much of an issue (our car being one of those for those that have heard it) as the turbine wheel does a good job of reducing noise. With that in mind we are working on a modified second decat section currently which will aimed at those who are naturally aspirated with CAT-less manifolds to reduce the volume of the exhaust note Also worth noting that anyone considering a CAT-less manifold should probably stick with a resonated exhaust system if you're concerned about noise I've got more graphs here to update soon also of more torque dips being removed Thanks Mike
  18. Hi all, Another product we've been working on for a little while now. A breather system for the FA20. This is a dual system and covers both the crankcase breather and the rocker cover breather systems in one unit. Each side has its own drain plug and both side are also internally baffled. It also acts as a battery clamp/tie down The prototype is currently on our 86 and has been for a couple of months now. The finished article will look tidier than the prototype and the battery tie down with be CNC cut rather than by hand currently. Ideal for supercharged or turbo cars whereby the stock breather system can become inadequate and stops oil mist being fed into the air intake and consumed by the engine. Pricing TBC and more information will follow as and when we have it Thanks Mike

    GT86/BRZ/FR-S Manifold/Headers From Tuning Developments

The stock CAT BAck exhaust does a very very good job of silencing the noise too Joe Correct Mark yes. Tomei came off and one of ours went on in its place, with tuning to suit.
  23. Afternoon all, Most people are now aware the key to unlocking the torque dip has been the exhaust manifold, or headers if you're American We have worked on our own manifold, which is stainless steel and manufactured here in the UK. Fitment is excellent and this will fit with all OE intake parts, however, we would recommend a resonator delete as this is a little closer to the manifold than we would like for use. Stock air box is 100% superb fitment. From dyno testing so far, we're already well on the way to removing the torque dip completely and are gaining healthy horsepower and torque throughout the rev range! With the addition of exhaust system, this manifold and a remap (stock airbox at present) we're gaining circa 25bhp and 25lb.ft over standard trim on our own car. More testing to come with this shortly with an intake kit, then we'll be moving onto forced induction We have the non-CAT versions available for sale now! Prices: Equal Length - Non-CAT £699.00 Unequal Length - Non-CAT £729.00 Either manifold can add an overpipe for £149.00, reduced from £165.00 when also taking a manifold. If we have interest, we can run a group buy on these manifolds but would need 5 names or more, would get the price down to circa £650.00 inc VAT. Couple of photos Getting more and more people inquiring about the cost of going for the turbo kit at a later date with our manifold and remap... If you're already running one of our manifolds and you have an ECUTeK license, the current cost to then go turbo is £3850.00 inc VAT. Thanks Mike Kind regards, Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd

Decent additional silencer in the exhaust will get the volume under control Lauren.
