Alexb27 9 Report post Posted February 1, 2019 Hi all, Decided to skip the rx8 step and went straight to a GT86. Bought it back at the end of October and after reading through the forum in the past month or so, I have finally decided to join the club! Enjoying every bit of my daily drive to work + the fun on backroads during weekends. Beautiful car! Umm... I am already in contact with Mike at TD to get a resonated catback and the famous NA pack (uel). If anyone has videos of how this sounds pls send me links. Also, I am really struggling with wheels - if anyone has a good option for a wheel (8 inch) and tyre (225/45/17 or 225/35/18) pack for under £1000 that would be awesome! I want something that looks like a deep dish (or at least deeper than stock!) wheel, but I am aware that there's limited options. Also, I wouldn't want to go much wider as I like the back end sliding around. Short term I will drop the car 25mm, but I would like to get some coilovers at some point, although I am a bit worried about ride quality (Oxfordshire has some "great" quality roads..). Smoked Valenti tail lights (+ fog light) are also on the short term mod list as well as a ducktail (TRD maybe). On my way to work i keep spotting a red gt86 going down south on A34 and was wondering if that's one of you. So if you see a black gt86 drifting around Oxford, that's me! Looking forward to joining club meetings in the future and thanks to the people who have created this community! 1 Lauren reacted to this

Lauren 2259 Report post Posted February 1, 2019 Welcome aboard. Good choice on mods so far. As for tyre sizes, stock tyre sizes are better on an 8" rim as you may find the increased sidewall with a 225/45/17 robs it of some feel. 225/40/18 is the correct profile if going for 18's. You'll enjoy the TD NA package makes a big difference to how the car drives. 1 Alexb27 reacted to this

Probably gonna go with 18" (I know it might affect ride but ohh well - things you do for the looks). Is it bad practice to get wheels with incorrect centre bore and then buy an adaptor? Struggling to find a website that gives 56.1 as an option... I see most wheels have the 73.1 or 74.1 mm centre bore.. Currently looking at JR11s
KevinA 695 Report post Posted February 3, 2019 Welcome and enjoy your 86, nothing comes close in the price bracket if you enjoy real driving 1 Alexb27 reacted to this
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted February 3, 2019 I run spigot rings on my TE37's, it's no problem, so it isn't bad practice not for a decent wheel. 1 Alexb27 reacted to this
