Becks 1 Report post Posted April 13, 2017 So few weeks after getting my new car I've noticed a rust spot already 🙄 im gutted and now i know it's there cant wait to get it sorted. Ive emailed the Toyota garage but don't think they will do anything as its a stone chip. Ive read that chipex is pretty good (if they do Pearl White) but concerned that the rust will need to be treated first if I do go down the chipex route. Has anyone used chipex? And if so what did you use to treat the rust? Ive seen a Hammerite Kurust Pencil is available. Any advice would be appreciated.
rob275 1817 Report post Posted April 13, 2017 Best thing to do is get a rubber tipped pencil and some sandpaper, cut a hole out of the sandpaper with a holepunch and sdtick the little circle to the rubber end and wetsand the rust off lightly by twisting the pencil. Then apply some stone chip repair paint

Cerastes 204 Report post Posted April 13, 2017 You can find your colour code on the inside of your passenger door I believe; just so you can order the correct colour

will300 812 Report post Posted April 13, 2017 I'd apply some of this: Hammerite Kurust, before you use any touch up paint.
Ztox 230 Report post Posted April 14, 2017 Looks like that's at the top of the windscreen, they're a nightmare for getting them there! I had one there for ages and it did my head in, only recently had it cleaned up and filled in.
