ceebee450 6 Report post Posted November 6, 2015 I've been thinking about having the Toyota upgrade fitted since getting my car. My dealer has told me that they can fit the system but it will not be fully integrated with my Touch & Go Nav unit. Is this correct? If it is can anybody who has had this fitted please let me know what happens. Do you get the display and the programme selection is made via a separate unit or what.Any help would be appreciated.ThanksChris
Nicebiscuit 655 Report post Posted November 6, 2015 I was advised that it wasn't worth the cash. Spent £65 at Halfords instead.Alternatively decent aftermarket dab head units aren't that expensive. There's another thread in the ice sub forum about what I got. I just tuck it in the centre console box...
Dan7954 35 Report post Posted November 6, 2015 I cant find a pic of one at the moment but iirc it looks like an old ipod shuffle stuck to the dash.. And thats probably doing it favours saying that!If it were me and you want to keep the stock stereo then personally id get something like THIS
Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted November 6, 2015 The system has a greyed out menu for DAB & I understood it that the official add on module made this live??
Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted November 6, 2015 Just checked Toyota's own site. The price for their DAB module is only £229 fitted.Might try to get this fitted to my wife's 86 Supports DAB, DAB+ & DMB 1 richardcarman reacted to this
ceebee450 6 Report post Posted November 7, 2015 Thanks for all of your replies. There does not seem to be anybody who has actually had the module fitted though. I'm still not sure how well it integrates with the Touch & Go, if it does at all! Can anybody help?

Bail 33 Report post Posted November 7, 2015 I've got the "proper" DAB fitted, that integrates with the Touch unit perfectly, it's from a verso but fits the GT. It's not a FM add on its a proper DAB integration with stock head unit. 1 Squadrone Rosso reacted to this
Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted November 7, 2015 Where does the aerial go? In the front screen?
Test Drives Unlimited 278 Report post Posted November 7, 2015 I was quoted about £299 from a Toyota Dealer to fit the DAB Option to my GT86 !!Am looking at a cheaper option from Road Radio or Halfolds

Nicebiscuit 655 Report post Posted November 8, 2015 I was told it didn't really integrate. Hence why I didn't bother. As for an aerial a magnetic mount mast aerial (usually best for reception) works great mounted upside down in the boot (really)
Twigman 93 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 The DAB Toyota fitted to my 86 integrates fully....see this post: http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/1354-touch-go-dab-options/?do=findComment&comment=33843
Test Drives Unlimited 278 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 The one Ian has fitted is nothing like the one I was quoted at the Gatwick Dealer !! They were offering the same sort of thing that I can get from my local sound system Fitter ! It comes with an Remote Control and shows up on the T&G Screen, but you can't control via the screen and has to be all done via the Remote that can be stuck to the dashboard !! Gatwick wanted over £330 fitted Inc VAT where as elsewhere I could get the same thing fitted for just under £100 !!!! Will make a note of that Part Number and go back to them ! Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted April 4, 2016 We're going for the Toyota official add on. I have confirmed with Customer Services that the £229 price on their blog is the recommended fitted price. Will call at the dealers later.
long-gone 152 Report post Posted April 4, 2016 (edited) My guy says his guys don't speak highly of it. "...the unit tunes into one of the pre-set channels on the stereo and then you can pick up a DAB signal. I have attached an image of the said unit but in the picture it does show it fitted to an Aygo. You can see the unit fitted just above the gear stick" Edited July 6, 2016 by daidaiiro Remove image
Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted April 4, 2016 That's not correct. On the upgrade, there is nothing external other than the aerial on the passenger side A pillar:- Touch & Go DAB options http://gt86.org.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/1354-Touch-%26-Go--DAB-options Post 52 applies
Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted April 15, 2016 Being fitted on the 26th £229.
Squadrone Rosso 82 Report post Posted April 25, 2016 Being fitted on the 26th £229. The plot thickens. The part is on back order & dealer says it's not controllable via the head unit, you use the remote???
ceebee450 6 Report post Posted April 25, 2016 I ended up buying a similar system called justDRIVE from justconnectme.co.uk. It sounds similar to the Toyota one but is £30 cheaper. They also install it at your home or place of work. They did a great job on mine with everything hidden away. Yes, you need a separate remote but you can program in your favourites and mount the remote somewhere convenient using the supplied Velcro pads, so it's no big deal.
