Quixote 35 Report post Posted February 19, 2015 Interesting part is: The Highways Agency confirmed to MailOnline they pay £150,000 per site to install the equipment and· £25,000 per site per year to maintain the equipment. So we could save money and have more police employed to help prevent real crime by not spending stupid money on cameras... 1 smudge reacted to this

smudge 1020 Report post Posted February 21, 2015 I do wonder, do these petitions ever achieve anything though? If they get over 100,000 people on board, then they have to be taken to parliament to be discussed. It's then thrown out 9 times out of 10, but the MP's in question always remember that an extra 100,000 votes could win/lose an election
rob275 1817 Report post Posted February 21, 2015 They would never abolish them. Its too much of a money maker for them. It's a shame they profit off of deaths essentially caused by their "safety cameras"
