    How to change your binnacle

Thank you Faith. That would be much appreciated. I am trying to get to where the back of the mph/kmh toggle switch would be if I had one on the car. Mine is an Aussie car I imported. It only has kmh and no button. The binnacle background was changed over as part of the work necessary for the IVA test, however the import company couldn’t work out (or couldn’t be bothered to work out) how to change the digital display over mph. I am hoping to find the correct wires and connect them briefly to make the switch. After that the car remembers the last selection so I shouldn’t need to change it again. At least the actual speedometer disk has both readings on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    How to change your binnacle

Is anyone else coming up against a block on the first video here? It says something about Merlin Beggars blocking it because of copyright. I’d love to be able to take a look at this because it is has been the number one job on my list for the past year and I keep putting it off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Nige's GT86

Hello, I realise this thread is old now, however it is still really interesting and informative. I was wondering whether you had the dimensions o those bushes you made to fit onto your jacks, specifically the bits that fit to the car. If can always go and measure up and design something specific to my own jacks, I was just wondering about the kind of dimension ratios if you had them to hand. I also wondered where you sourced the polyurethane to make up each piece? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rustproofing

I realise this is an old thread, however it seemed the most appropriate place for a question of have on the issues of rust. I bought my GTS86 in Australia and brought it back to the U.K. when I returned last year. When I bought it I paid extra to have an electronic rustproofing device fitted. I remember vaguely at the time doing some research and finding that these devices actually work well. In Australia (north of Brisbane) I never had to worry about rust. Any rain would evaporate so quickly with the heat there that there wouldn’t be any standing water around. And they NEVER salted the roads anywhere around where I lived. The lowest temperature it ever reached was around 5 °C I’d love to hear from anyone else that has fitted these devices and whether or not there are any hints and tips for getting the most out of them? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hello JohnM, please accept my apologies, as the headunit sold overnight so is no longer available. Good luck in your search for one. Richard
  7. Hello JohnM, I will need to go through all the wires and photograph those that look like they match what you are looking for. I’m not totally certain which will be which as the original headunit was removed by the car audio specialists when they installed my new one. I can only assume that all the wires they gave to me will have that one included in it I’ll try and get this done tomorrow or Friday when I will be able to get to it at my parents’ place. I’ll PM you with the results if that’s OK? Richard
