Nemesis 15 Report post Posted September 27, 2017 I want to add a car cam & phone charger & I’m not sure the best place to get power for them as I want them hard wired, I think it would be best to fit a small fuse box rather than use fuse taps as I have the option to add other accessories later. In past cars I took a tap from the main accessory cable on the ignition switch on the steering column but as I have a starter button I don’t know where I should tap the cable. I have a couple of 12v to 5v usb converters I can wire in so I can just use usb to micro usb cables instead of cutting the supplied cigarette adaptor

Rich 378 Report post Posted September 27, 2017 Most of my stuff is taken off the back of the cigarette lighter in the central console.
benmmellor 44 Report post Posted September 27, 2017 Phil - there is a cigarette socket in the glovebox as already stated. I got a 2x 2a usb plug and that powers my current dashcam nicely from there. I have another one in the centre armrest which has the leads for my 2 phones plugged in. The dashcam cable easily tucks in the roof lining and then slides down the inner pillar cover - just pull it down a little to miss the airbag. I then fed it down the inner door trim and then popped the side of the glovebox off and tucked it through to plug in to the lighter socket.
