alucardo 55 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 I am getting a tonk noise from the front left when I go over a bump, it does not happen all the time. It sometimes happens turning the wheel. Any ideas of what it could be or to check. Its standard suspension no changes at all. Not had time to have a look.. Noise has appeared past few days.
nerdstrike 186 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 Number one candidate is the anti-roll bar links where they hook up to the suspension. These drop-links are often sacrificial if you hit a massive pothole. There is probably a headlight levelling sensor down there too.
alucardo 55 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 I guess drop links would be considered wear and tear. So would need sort this out of warranty.
Bfranklyn86 52 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 I get the same noise, it just happens every time I turn the steering wheel from far left back to centre.
Church 209 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 Spring doesn't bind on spring perch by chance?
alucardo 55 Report post Posted January 24, 2017 Well noise seems to have disappeared today. So as Church said might have been the spring bound for a period of time....
Church 209 Report post Posted January 24, 2017 Or you simply hadn't lately performed manoeuvres to trigger symptoms. Try turning wheel from full lock to full lock for example.
