Hi Guys

Time to say hello

I've finally bought my 86 after trying to replace my ageing Mk1 Mr2 for several years now.

Here it is

 

My Last attempt was this 135i

Fast but a bit boring, didn't really get on with it.

 

Before that I had this S2000

Great car but at 6"4 I didn't really fit, and the lack of torque got on my nerves.

 

Previous to that I had this E46 M3

Cracking engine, but dreadful gearbox. The most uncomfortable car I've ever owned.

 

And here is the new one.

 I need to quieten down the exhaust a bit and replace the Sportline springs with some coilovers but

even so I'm really enjoying the car and finding it much more intuitive than the BMW's I had.

 

Looking forward to meeting some of you, perhaps at Simply Japanese.

Welcome aboard. Not a bad car history there.

There are a number of members going to Simply Japanese. The rest of us are doing a track day at Blyton Park.

Congrats and welcome to the club.  Any plans for the car at all?  Trackdays?  Mods etc?  Be interested in seeing how you get on with the 86, can't imagine the torque being much different compared to the S2000.

Mods as above for the moment, maybe a HKS Sc further down the line.

I may do some trackdays with it but, I do have a 240z Track car for that.

The 86 has been mapped and torque is pretty good, much better low down than the S2000 ever was.

That didn't really do anything until 6000 revs and then blasted round to 9000! Great for track but  a pain for normal driving.
