Tweedbean 151 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 I went for the following kit to use with the DA: Dodo Juice Buff Daddy DADodo Juice Basics of Bling Detailing SprayHexlogic Pads 4" in Orange, green, white, and blackLake Country 3.5" Dual-Action Backing PlateDetailing tape Menzerna 250ml Sampler Polish set of 4 I leart using the Junkman videos on youtube. His channel can be found here and it covers everything from a 2 bucket wash to polishing to applying wax: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvqM4p ... g656WLmuOgWorth a watch, here are the videos around his polishing technique, be warned he talks a lot and they are very long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP-eAddv2skhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_0nr6XPEHMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyJYtYhz9RQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0rbZOeNN4ohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuGMg0wwo6E 1 Twigman reacted to this
adam 70 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 The junkman videos are the bomb for understanding the basics of how to use a da, the das 6 is a really good starter polisher imo I found it best when using chemical guys hexlogic pads with megs 105 and 205 polish just watch out not to apply to much pressure with the machine as it can heat up the paint to much cause marring or even leadig to burning through your paint however most waxes you should still apply by hand so it will reduce the polishing time but not necessarily application and removal of wax, they are great pieces of kit I would strongly advise staying away from rotary polishers to start with as they are far more aggressive
rob275 1817 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 Most DA Polishers seem to be re-branded DAS 6's, Get a DAS 6 Pro, it has a faster orbital speed which can reduce your polishing time significantly once you get used to it at a lower rpm 1 adam reacted to this
adam 70 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 I would agree with you rob although I bought a rupes to replace my das 6 pro and its like a completely different animal all together
rob275 1817 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 I would agree with you rob although I bought a rupes to replace my das 6 pro and its like a completely different animal all together That's not a mainstream Polisher though, things like the Dodo Juice and Megs G220 ones are just a re-branded DAS-6 as far as i'm aware? Rupes are more pricey, so yeah it will be better Get what you pay for, for the price, as an entry level polisher id say the Das 6 Pro is the way to go. But if you have spare monies there are others available such as Flex and Rupes
adam 70 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 Most definitely agree with that most of the entry level polishers on that price bracket are all rebranded das's with slightly different casings but the same internals, the only reason I replaced mine was that I started getting a few clients on board and the rupes disperses heat quicker and I got a stonker of a deal on one 1 rob275 reacted to this
