adam 70 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I'm a massive fan of yokohamas parade spec 2 in the summer when there warm sticky as he'll in the wet not so fun
GT86Jay 202 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Goodyear Eagle F1s or Michelin Pilot Sport 3 seem to be popular for grip. I've just opted for Eagle F1s as they're less noisy and have better fuel economy.
Twigman 93 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I like my Continental ContoSport5s - they're the only tyre I've tried on the 86 apart from the Primacys
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Yoko's. Of the Advan variety. Contisport contacts are good too. Eagle F1s are good as long as you don't take them on track. Too soft on the sidewalls for my liking.
rob275 1817 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Have to agree with Lauren, the F1's are great for road, somewhat lack on track, particularly in the wet IMO. So I will be trying some different ones next.
DaveB 20 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Agree the goodyears are too soft for the track, but I might squeeze another day from them at cadwell next Wednesday! Thinking advan advan ad08r next
rob275 1817 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I assume you do not intend to partake in the TSS in the near future?
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Stan ran the AD08R, but they may be noisy and reduce your ride quality. If you are making your car track focused then it's worth it for high grip if that's what you want. May be marginal when it gets a bit colder though and you can't get them up to temperature on the road.
DaveB 20 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 No tss, just track and summer. Garage in the salty winter roads!
rob275 1817 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Sounds like the AD08's could be a viable option for you then. Haven't used them myself but haven't heard a bad thing about them.
forge197 12 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Goodyear F1 suits it on the road but they are not great on track, as a road tyre think they are excellent, on the track I have found them out of their depth, I'll be trying AD08 next time around.
GTB 53 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Gonna try Toyo Proxes when my Michelin Ditch finders are U/S. Toyos excellent on supercharged MX5.

Lauren 2259 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Too soft on the sidewalls. Mediocre budget tyres IME.
mike-p 116 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 I use Toyo T1Sport for TSS, pretty happy with them.
DaveB 20 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 Too much choice! Went for Dunlop sport max rt, good side walls for the track, good treads for road and rain. Original roll bars going back on, then suspension is getting aligned and set up. Happy days ! Using Lauren's settings but standard toe. 1 rob275 reacted to this
