Quball 60 Report post Posted January 19, 2014 Been contemplating? think that sounds right on buying a plate for the zed seen one i kind of like granted the cars the wrong colour but, wheres the best place to buy a plate from and does it make much difference on insurance? Special K 442 Report post Posted January 19, 2014 Quball - are you talking about the vehicle registration plate - what is termed a 'cherished number plate'? Buy it from wherever you like, providing it is on a 'Number Retention Certificate'. Otherwise it's a pain in the a*se to transfer it from another vehicle - which has to have a current MOT certificate, whether it's scrapped/written off or not... and it cannot be from a newer car than the one you're putting it onto.. and it must be a UK plate... It won't make any difference to your insurance premium (other than a possible 'admin charge' for changing your policy). Full details/costs can be obtained from the DVLA website.
