    I haven't heard much about reliability issues on the M135i. Quite right Pitman. I'll start at £15,995 and see what happens.

    Good point but the LSD seems less crucial in an overtyred, heavier, Supersport shod, inherently high traction road tractor like the M135i. The Quaife is a little more discreet too anyway... I will miss the car, no question. It's in no way a judgement of value. Just doesn't work for me, my mistake, not the car's fault in any way.

    Ordered a M135i (how dare I ?) for June delivery. So will be selling the GT86 privately. Love the chassis, the handling, damping, ergonomics, etc etc but I can't live with the engine. It's a 62 Oct 2012 car with 14k miles and FSH (2 services) in white with cloth and no satnav. Car is 100% perfect, not a swirl in sight. 4 new GY F1s. 1 previous owner. How much will it fetch privately ?

    Update. The vibration is slowly receding but deffo still there at high speed. My thinking is that if the discs were warped they wouldn't unwarp themselves do maybe it is pad deposit and maybe the car is so light (and so slow, lol) that it takes much longer than it would do to clean up compared to a heavier more powerful road car...

    I hope you're right. What concerns me is that the disc look pretty neat now compared to then. Actually it was 10 days and 200 gentle road miles ago so maybe I've got to be patient !!!
  8. Really bad vibration braking from 70mph. Not sure what to do. Bad batch of discs ? Any warranty recourse ?

    Yes that's where I work. You're right but it's a free solution and it's the work phone so I don't actually need to remove it any point.

    True, it's not very stable, or wasn't in this test but I have since then found a bit of rigidity through the use of a couple more zip ties. It's not meant to rival a Go Pro but brilliant for my needs and in effect free. The pole is just zip tied to the head rest support.

    Why don't you use a phone ? This is my £0 set up: Old metal broom handle abandoned outside 2 years ago and destined for the tip. Old faulty phone holder that was replaced FOC Bits of sticky velcro leftover 1 large zip tie 2 small zip ties 2 used wine corks inserted in the tube at the ends Bits of rubber cut from an old inner tube Work phone (32GB) Borrowing daughter's BT remote (that came with her selfie stick)
  12. "the WRX has limitless grip " Not only they clearly don't understand the difference between lat grip and traction but it tells you about their driving skills that they can't breach the front end lat gs of a WRX... They're clearly better off in a 4wd car though...
  13. On reflection and after 100 miles today, I hate the engine a little bit more everyday. I reckon I rev it all right. It's just gruff and bizarrely mapped. It's like it was mapped by a committee who argued all day and decided to try and please everyone and ended up with the worst of all words in terms of fuelling. It never really takes off like a 200hp VTEC will eventually do. It has decent low range response but mid range is just bizarre. The mid-range dip is just farcical. I am normally a chassis man and don't care much about engine but that's stretching it a bit. It sounds like a broken k-series too. Really challenging to live with. Having said that the chassis is sublime. It was brilliant to out corner a recent 4wd TT out of a dual lane roundabout, even in the traction zone. Although the guy's hands position on the wheel gave the game away...
  14. That's good to hear. Does the added neg camber balances you tyre wear ? Or is the insides get worn first ? Jay, I do sometimes open the door to check the kerb while manoeuvring so that must be it, cheers.
  15. You're right and I might just keep the balance and stick 1.5 deg all round. I don't know at what point too much front camber starts having too much impact on braking distances though ? It is possible that my perception of the handling is only based on winter driving with greasy roads and not really getting enough heat on either axles or possibly varying levels of heat too between axles. The F1s have been an improvement on the Primacy that's for sure but it's possible that I still haven't had a chance to get both axles at the optimum temp at the same time yet !!! Bedford should solve that providing it's dry.
