Open Day Spring 2016 @ Tuning Developments 27/03

Well unfortunately I've had a set back with the wheels so I wont be able to take it. But I will try my best to get a lift to you

Thanks mate, muchas gracias. Should all come together, just more expense and time. I'm itching to christen it on the evo triangle!

Adam's Stage 3 Turbo Rocket Bunny

There has been a rather big set back. The wheels don't want to fit. The rears require additional camber so the arms are on order. And the fronts.... well the fronts......(stay calm....must stay calm). The biggest issue with the fronts if the fact I can turn with these wheels on. When turning, they rub at the front and rear of the arch. So further bodywork is required to get these babies to fit. I know if I change the tyre profile or If I ordered new smaller outer sections of the alloy I will be able to get them to fit. But I simply don't want to change the wheel / tyre set up. So once again the grinder will be coming out. Unfortunatly this means the car won't be ready for another few weeks. It won't be ready for the Tuning Developments Open Day which I'm gutted about, but it will all be worth it. Anyway hope you guys enjoy the nearly finished article.

Cheers for the good vibes everyone. The only parts of the car that require repainting is the front bumper and boot lid mate. The tyre lettering makes a hell of a difference. Worth the money 😊 Have you got your new bolts yet?

Update - Work in the bodyshop is now nearing the end. All the major work is now complete. The arches and skirts have been painted over the weekend, and have come out great. My concern was getting a close match to the pearl white, but Lee has done a brilliant job. Spraying of the front bumper and boot today, then time to reassemble. Hoping it will be ready for Wednesday. Looking forward to getting these bad boys on!!! The next update will hopefully be the finished product later this week, all being well.

Joes Rocket bunny V1 GT86 Build

Excellent!! Let me know if you need to trim more off as I think we've cut around the same amount of bodywork off. I was panicking about that last night haha, but apparently not a lot needs cutting away. So only a few more days for you, that's mint. I hope you're coming to japfest mate.

Adam's Stage 3 Turbo Rocket Bunny

Update on the build. The car is in the bodywork garage and over the weekend there has been some great progress. The majority of the cutting has been done (everyone cringes). The arches have been fixed in place temporarily whilst making good of the bodywork is being done. The Seibon carbon spoiler has been fitted and reinforced internally with some glav plate, this will be removed for some further paintwork (the end stabilizers haven't been fitted either yet). The arches as you can see, fit lovely. Where they have been trimmed there has been some minor filling to smooth it all off, but apart from this they are perfect, I'm dead chuffed. A big thanks again to Nigel. The boot lid and front bumper require patching where the OEM spoiler / plate holder sat. Then the arches, skirts, front lip, boot lid and front bumper are to be prep'd and sprayed and fitted. And also the APR Forula wing mirrors and to be done. Waiting on the gold aluminium rivnuts to come in and then we are away.

I thought you did as well, that's why I've been removing it for the MOT. If I don't technically have to, all the better.

My first Nardi was on my old MX-5. Yeah, I'll be putting back the stock one for a day and I will have to do something about the side repeaters as the current ones are getting deleted with the wide body kit.... Not sure what I'm going to do, maybe just a light bulb and cable hanging off my wing mirror, held on by blue tack perhaps haha.

I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve. I bet you are too, not long now for you. I've bet you've missed your car. Thanks mate, Really nice feel to it, makes a hell of a difference and easy to fit

Stripped the interior panels this weekend, ready for the hydrographics (Gold carbon weave). Fairly straight forward job, a philips and flat head did the job. The biggest pain was the two silver pieces of trim either side of the air con controls. to remove then you need to remove the whole centre console. This morning I dropped the car off at the bodywork garage, for the wide body kit to fitted. As most of you know it's not an easy kit to fit. Cutting, welding, preparing the panels etc is required prior to fitting. The car will be in there for 2 -3 weeks, Let the transformation begin... Further updates soon...

Cheers mate. How are you getting on with your wheels and coilovers? Nige is on the owners forum if you need to contact him mate, but looks like your body work guy has done a spot on job on arches so no worries.

Another great thing about the GT86, not many other sports car can you fit an entire wide bodykit including skirts into it and transport it 2.5 hours back home. Nigel has done a spot on job, as he demonstrated on his GT86 the arches fit perfectly. His moulds are great! He had to put up with my lack of knowledge but we had a good chat about the kit, and future plans for my build. He knows his stuff. I'll be taking the kit up to the bodyshop tomorrow and I'll be dropping off the Seibon Carbon Fibre Big Wing all ready for the work to begin next Monday!! Not long now. I know he will be chuffed to find out how easy the kit will fit, without all the filling and repairing. Still hoping to have the car completely finished by the end of the month. Updates coming soon with pictures
