I got tuning developments lightweight flywheel when I changed my clutch, I do love it, you can tell it revs a bit more freely (more noticeable for me on decel) although i have lightweight water pump, crank and Alternator pulleys aswell

I wouldn't say it will give you a big power increase and it is a little easier to stall but like anything it's up to you.

Is it loud? Lightweight flywheels tend to make a loud noise

My TD oil cooler thermostat comes in around 70°c. I leave it running all year round and on most street driving it gets up to around 80°c during the warmer months and when I was N/A my oil was registering at 67°c during a snowstorm on a 55mph motorway.

On the track I tend not to let the oil go above 115°c, no particular reason, and I've taken it as high as 120°c (all with turbo).

So if it kicks in at 70 then my cold starts shouldn’t be effected ?

I have my alarm set for 120 and usually cool down when it reaches around that point up but will let it get to 125ish on occasions.

Do you have an oil cooler and is it on track or the road?

Well currently I just have the TD NA KIT so no oil cooler no. I’m doing stage 1+ oil cooler + clutch on the 29th so I was just trying to learn how to monitor my cars health etc.

    oh and road use

Is that offer open to everybody? You might get inundated. I want to get my wheels reburbed. If not possible at yours, do you know of a good place in London or Essex?

If you go to myalloys and say jay recommended you to me you will get 10%-15% off but to do trade prices u would have to go through BMW which would be much more complicated.

GT86 is better looking, IMO. Stock Vs stock, the GR86 seems like it might be a better car in pretty much every way. I'm certainly interested to try one and see how it compares to my SC'd GT86, it'd have to be pretty damn good for me to consider switching though.

Yeah fully agree, I was hoping somebody here would have driven one to compare

I think its too soon to tell. Until we get to try the new car ourselves it’s impossible to make an informed decision. As mauch as I prefer the Gt86 inside and out.. the reviews generally all say the Gr86 is a much better car in every way.

Yeah true, I think the brz/86 looks way way way nicer that’s all we can say so far is looks though true

Similar to Martin, it came down to having instant torque delivery and general responsiveness. Car has plenty of low down grunt now, and power continues nicely higher in the revs. Ultimately, it's an expensive purchase either route (both transform the car) so if you don't have a clear preference in your mind perhaps give Abbey (I'd recommend these guys from my experience) or Fensport a call, and if their demo cars are avaliable it'll help you decide.

Thanks I might try do that actually

You are misquoting. emoji12.png He said he dislikes Turbo lag , which is the first thing that happens before the kick comes in.
And these things divide opinion, such is their nature!
PS, I thought after the poor manifold install experience of missing a nut and a bolt, TD was out of your consideration. Fensport do AVO turbo which is a much better OE like design, similar to what Subaru have in their WRX cars. Why not consider them, if you still insist on turbo and keeping the car above 3/ 3.5K RPM to keep the turbo spooling..

I think the TD kit looks cooler than avo and as a daily driver a turbo gets better MPG vs a supercharger plus that lag  means when the turbo kicks in it makes the car feel faster even if it is no faster I find. I like the screamer pipe also.
