DId anyone think it was odd that the starter stood on our left? I've never known this before in sprints or hillclimbs. It meant that I could not always see his hand gestures because the mirror or dashcam were in the way.  Just curious.

How was Loton today Bob ?

Good to meet you all on Sunday and thanks for being so welcoming. Here are a few pics and a few words - https://beambreaking.wordpress.com/2017/04/04/blyton-3/

    All the Best,

    Bob

Good write up Bob, I was at Anglesey on sat and was talking to John Wadsworth in an MX5 who said he liked the '86. He was also telling me about his days in Mini's in the 60's. He was 80 on sunday and was all over the country doing sprinting or autosolo's great for an 80 year old !

  3. I must say I would not be keen in having the tow hooks in all the time as a minor bump would impact into the chassis as its the most forward point imho.

I use the screw driver but cover the tip in tape so that the metal does not dig into the paint or scratch the bumper if I have a slip up lol

Also, how much does the stiffened ride from the coilovers contribute to cornering speed, or is it mainly the camber adjustment that serves this purpose through extra grip?

Ride comfort is quite important for me as it's primarily a daily, so if I could get 90% of the benefit by just doing (easily) adjustable camber mods and better tyres, that would be preferable.

This is a good point, my plans when I get round to it was to stay on stock suspension and set it up using camber bolts at the front and adjustable rear arms to get the -2 camber front and rear as for me fitting coilovers seems to have more negatives than positives for a road car that will only see a track 6 times a year.
