GR Yaris who's going for it?

Yikes, that is a mark up. They do look good though.

GR Yaris who's going for it?

Thanks Lauren, will have a read. I think you also got in there at the right time. When I was picking up my 86 from the garage yesterday (boot latch replaced) they were saying there is now a waiting list a year long!

    Cat Back fitting cost.

Also the weather is naf at the moment so it's won't be a lot of fun lying under a car in the rain on a street. Sounds like getting a garage to do it for you this time is the more civilised approach. Might be worth you giving TD a call if they are not too far from where you are. They know their stuff and have lots of experience with 86's.

    Pearl white TRD daily

Congrats on the new car. Nice choice on the TRD. Look forward to seeing what you do with it

Out of interest what did he recommend instead?

Daily driven/ track day brake pads

Project Mu do seem to get good reviews. Have all those above who are running non stock pads also gone in for uprated brake fluid? And braided lines for good measure? Or are a set of decent pads and a well maintained brake system all that's needed unless going all the way with a BBK? Luke, hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread. I thought it would be useful to hear what people also think about fluid and hoses as well.....and, because like you, I'm at thst stage of needing to replace pads and thinking an upgrade is in order 😀

    Mtec clutch spring

I got it from Mike at TD. Not fitted it yet so would be interested to hear your feedback if you get round to fitting it before me.

    MartinT's BRZ

Yes, I'm in a similar position of needing new pads all round soon. I was going to go down the Ferrodo DS2500 route but open to good suggestions 😀
  11. Or still lock the doors by using the key which then doesn't arm the alarm. Still same insurance concerns though that you correctly called out.

Yes, I went EL with the springs as well. With the springs in, the gear stick goes back to centre (neutral) with a bit more force. Less 'slack' i guess I would call it. As others have said, it is hard to describe but going into gear has a more positive feel is best way to explain it. Let us know what you think when they are in.

Great choice to get that done. EL or UEL? Shifter springs are a no brainer if you are having the work done for the NA package 👍

    Interior Light Bulb

Yes, I found them good. Bright White and no tinge. I actually find the vanity mirror ones perhaps too bright! They are easy to swap and cheap so I figured it was worth giving them a go. No issues to report having had them in for about a year now.

Black Friday 2020 from Tuning Developments

Yes, MTEC springs are well worth it. As above, it doesn't get rid of the slight stiffness from 1st to 2nd when cold but I'm fairly sure I've seen others recommend uprated gearbox oil to help with that. What it does do is make gear changes even more positive and gives a better (in my opinion) feel to shifts. @Mike, email on its way to you for a super res exhaust for me this year please 😁

    2nd Gen GT86

Had those fitted on mine this week. Awesome tyres. Thank you to Martin T of for the local tyre fitter recommendation 👍. Right, back to the next gen car, the 2.4l NA engine sounds like the logical choice for making a 'step forward' but not having to reinvent the car.

    Hyundai i30 N Advert

Driven a couple of them and they are fun. It is a hot hatch and not a sports car so it depends what you are after though. Comes with a ton of kit and the pops and bangs are a bit addictive, even if a bit childish 😂.

    Interior Light Bulb

Hi Gazza. Think you might be right on the bulb. I went for one from ebay to make it a bit brighter inside. If you're interested put this into ebay.. Toyota GT86 Bright White Interior LED Kit - Bright White LED SMD - Xenon White It should bring up a whole set of leds for 15 quid to go round the car 👍

    Shadow lights!

Yep, they work well and look good considering the low price. As above, mine flash and turn off if you leave the door open for a few mins. Neat feature and they took all of 5 mins to fit 👍

    Help picking a car

From the write up you gave, the newer car sounded to me more what you were looking for. Good luck, like those above have said, I'm sure you will really enjoy whichever you go for.

    Lowering Springs Eibach 35-40mm

Yes, you and speed humps will get to know each other well 😄. I took those springs off as it was too low for the area where I live with the crappy roads and number of speed humps. 25mm would be a much better choice in my opinion, especially with a splitter. 35-40mm will look cool though 😉. Personally I went for adjustable coilovers so there is the option to adjust. Bit of a price difference though..

Love those wheels. Great choice, can't go wrong with Rays. Some pics on the car please once you have them fitted 😀 Tire size sounds right but I'm sure others who are running this size can 100% confirm.

    Advice needed!

Hi, both sound like great choices. Just my opinion but always go for the specification you really want. If that's the PP then keep your search to that. It may take slightly longer for the exact car you want but you will ultimately be happier knowing you didnt compromise on what you wanted. Either way, both cars you mention sound great and as long as the servicing has been done, 15k still isn't a lot of miles on a car these days. Good luck and let us know what you go for.

Flat battery - locked out - BROKE key

What a drama, glad you got it sorted now and are back on the road. I saw a post from someone who installed a trickle charger cable that can be accessed from outside the car. Perhaps not a bad idea. Am going to look into that having spent half an hour trying to get into the car at the weekend.
