Causes of brake fade on a track day

I have Hawk HPS pads and used with DBA T3 4000 discs are sufficient for a few hard laps at Anglesey but I needed to back off due to fade if I pushed them much beyond that. Obviously Anglsesey does not have any long straights to speak of so they don't get much chance to cool without backing off. They are a great combo for road use but I suggest you look elsewhere for a more track orientated pad
  6. Just advertised a 2017 facelift BRZ with 31k miles on on here. Currently advertised with some quality upgrades such as Ohlins suspension, ARK Grip Exhaust etc but willing to return to stock for the right price https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/449200162816763
  7. Due to personal circumstances an unforeseen automotive change of direction is heading my way so my 2017 BRZ along with all the additional goodies I have purchased will be looking for a new home. Testing the water here for interest before advertising it in different places. This INITIAL advert is for the car with the listed mods included. If I receive no genuine interest the plan will most likely entail returning it to stock. If that transpires, I will then add costs and pics to all the remaining mods. I do however also have some quality new items that are for sale below Lots of ifs I know but I guess this is the only way I can advertise it for now to gauge interest. Battery recomendations

Thanks guys Halfords did recommend the Yuasa YBX3014 60Ah but don’t stock it After a bit of digging, I ended up getting a Bosch S4025 from Tayna as it was discounted

    Torqen Experience

My buying experience with Torqen was excellent I purchased an ARK GRiP Exhaust System last year and had no issues whatsoever. I was advised there was stock available on enquiry and was given a rough delivery date. I received an electronic receipt upon purchase, enquiries were answered immediately by email and I was kept up to date with the delivery date which arrived as stated within 7 days

Are you guys using adjutsble top mounts or camber bolts or maintaining the stock camber settings?
  14. Thanks for the pics Rich The increase in rolling radius on a 245/40 is 28mm so not put that size into the mix. Cost increase on a 245/35/18 over a 235/40/18 looks to be around about £50 a set
  15. Hi Kevin A 35 profile would give 245 as the narrowest option on an 18. I would prefer to go 235 on a 8.5J. Other than the obvious increase in rolling radius why would you stay clear of a 40 profile?
  16. I’ve decided to go for a 235 40 18 and there seems to be a fair amount of choice for around the same money Discounting the more expensive PS4S as I want to try out another brand, spending approx. £100 a corner at Camskill will get a ContiSport Contact 6, a Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport, a Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, a Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 or the 2021 released Bridgestone Potenza Sport Decisions, decisions 😕
  17. Got a few items for sale Facelift BRZ HT Autos front lip spoiler. 2017 facelift model. Condition new. *pics taken from HT website but can provide actual if required* £125 posted Laile Beatrush Master Cylinder Stopper. Condition new. Purchased late 2019 and used on vehicle for approx 2000miles. Pics and tread depth TBC 12/03 Collection only (Chester area) due to size or arrange own carrier. £80 the pair
  18. Something a bit different Kahn RSV (Aston Martin design) 19x7.5. 5x100, ET45 in silver. kahn centre caps and metal spigot rings to fit 56.1 centre bore included Purchased new by myself, these have had less than 500 miles road use. Three unmarked and one with small marks on the spokes (done whilst photographing them 😭) Tyres in photo are 225x40x19 and these will be removed Taking up valuable garage space so need these gone £350 Collection only or arrange your own carrier
  19. What are your thoughts on having run a 225 on an 8.5?
  20. Cheers Leeky I'm on coilovers so OK on inner clearance. Currently running 245x40x17 on 9J ET42 which I think look nice mounted on the wheel I would like to go for a different width as a change from current set up. I'm thinking 225 would be too much of a stretch but probably the most playful set up. 255 I think is too wide for my needs so that leaves 235. Unless I'm missing a trick there doesn't seem to be too many options on 18's Just wondering what others have found the best suited to a 8.5J wide wheel
  21. Cheers guys I have been looking at 235's (-3mm difference) but there doesn't seem to be too much choice on a 235/35/18 where I have been searching. A 235/40 would be too large. An increase in diameter of 3.2%

    Coilover help required

I was ready for some additional NVH and I could probably put up with the odd knock but I'm pretty sure the continuous noise I have been experiencing wouldn’t be acceptable to most.

    Coilover help required

Not far off! The total cost of investigating the issue along with additional parts purchased would have bought me a decent BBK! I am really dissapointed in how things have panned out and travel restrictions have also prolonged the situation. Can't say if I would see a set of Tein Flex A's as a downgrade after experiencing the damping quaility of the Ohlins but they might have been a better purchasing experience.🤨

    Coilover help required

Agreed, the fact that both were on the vehicle for such a short length does make it seem unlikely. Surely if there was a 'knock' from the damper it would have been picked up whilst being inspected and could a rubber top mount totally isolate the noise if it was the damper. There is not a peep with the stock top mounts fitted now! Nothing else has changed. Supplier is taking the Ohlins top mounts back for inspection. Something strange is going on
