TD will remap the car and provide ecutek license for 550 so you get the famous NA package for 1050 rather than 1500. Bargain! Located on the m1 near Nottingham Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

  8. I would see if another red gt86 wants to swap boots with you. Lots of people want a plain boot to add their own spoiler on without having to fix the holes that are left behind by the standard spoiler. Changing boots is a very simple job of a matter of a few bolts on the hinges unplugging and chasing through the wiring for the number plate lights and changing number plates. 9. Fancied doing something alternative to the norm but also cost effective, this will also have some tips for anyone wanting to do a custom front setup or use the OEM headunit but incorporate more powerful speakers/subwoofer and make it all plug and play... relatively. Been looking at the focal speakers for a while, but seen some recent posts about people being unimpressed on FB, and i had been thinking of using a Pioneer GM1004 inline amp as im happy with the functionality of the standard headunit and the amp would give more oomph to the focals. But i saw Halfords had a sale on the Vibe Optisound micro amp for 70 quid. This amp has alot more functionality, gain control and a high pass filter for front and rear. https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-amps-and-subs/vibe-optisound-micro-4-channel-amp-703292.html This is simple plug and play with a T harness adapter i also got from halfords for 12 quid CT10TY01. But does create a spaghetti junction of wires. There is plenty of room to fit the micro amp behind the headunit, i mounted mine using 3m tape to the right hand side and all the cables to the left under the headunit, hard to get a good picture. The standard speakers where much much better with just this setup, mostly the volume was stepped up and the clarity was much better on the motorway. Another added benefit is it gives 2 RCA outputs for wiring an amp for a sub or other speakers, I'm thinking of using an underseat sub below the drivers seat. Halford also have the front vibe optisound components for Toyota at 150 quid... but they had the Vauxhall ones on offer for 80, the only difference are the plugs and mounting bracket for the woofer, but i can get those separate. https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-speakers/vibe-optisound-complete-speaker-kit---toyota-703706.html If you want to do your own custom front components and make it plug and play without cutting standard speaker wires you will need: CT55-TY01 to plug the woofers into the standard cables (labelled as for an aygo) CT55-TY02 to plug into the tweeters, this is essential as totoyta have a silly setup that sends the signal to the woofer via the tweeter so the woofer wont get a signal without this or cutting the standard wires CT25TY02 woofer adapters. All this comes in the Toyota kit but you can buy seperate for 20 quid altogether. One good thing about this kit it comes with some sound deadening for the door to go behind the speaker. then a rubber surround that helps direct the air and stop it being diverted behind the door card, not sure how much this helps but i installed it all the same. and the woofer built up with the new Ct25TY02 adapters on. and the CT55-TY01 plugs attached to the woofer then the standard wires on the car and all in place. Tweeters next post.

    US vs UK prices.

I've always been stung at customs from the half a dozen things I have bought. If your buying from US expect to get taxes and customs charges every time. If you don't get pinged then your very lucky. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

    Coilover help required

I must admit my experience of most aftermarket coilovers especially with solid topmounts is that they are noisy. I get the odd knocking with my tein Flex As at low speeds on minor bumps but I put that down to them being the cheaper end of coilovers. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk
  14. Yes pal that would be fine as long as each axle is equal. Most tend to go for et35 with 8 inch wide wheel which is 11mm further out, you can put a ruler or tape measure and check to see if yiud be happy with the offset. But I like your plan of getting 2 new wheels, likely they will be slightly different colour so budget 250 for a refurb Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk
  15. Are you looking to replace all of them or just a single one? If your looking to replace all then you can go with whatever specs you like. If you want to replace one it sounds like you've got a challenge, if the colour is the same you could buy at et48 and use a 2mm spacer, maybe. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

Daily driven/ track day brake pads

I use rbf600 as its simple and easy and to have the piece of mind that your fluid won't boil on track is worth the couple of extra quid cost on fluid and to do a yearly change. I haven't don't lines yet. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

Daily driven/ track day brake pads

BBK will be vastly different to stock brake. Pads won't reach the temperature you get on stock pads as fast due to more metal absorbing the heat. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

Daily driven/ track day brake pads

Hello mate I use ebc yellow stuff on the rear with pfc z front. In no way are these track pads but will survive on track longer than OEM. I have no issue with noise daily driving. The pfc z pads do get spongy after 15 mins on track I tend to push another lap then come in. But also note I'm a rookie track day driver. The answer that is obvious is that there isn't a pad that does both well. Best idea is to run two sets of pads. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

    2016 BRZ headlights

Just so you know the BRZ headlight are different to the 86 as you say but the 86 have the DRL in them and the indicator on the bumper. The brz are the other way around. Personally I prefer the 86 headlight. I am unsure whether you can mix and match the wiring may be different. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk
