    Number of TRD's in colours

The vin plate states it, like in @Kaisersalsek post. It states "GT86 TRD". I have a picture but I need to get it from my camera and edit it. I find it strange that there is no official website or chart for these stats. It would be interesting and cool to know. Google can only help so much though.
  2. Hello lovely people! I am looking to get into car detailing and the likes due to having a decent car now. However I have no idea about products. I have done a bit of research and made a purchase of harly wax (a lot of IRL people I know swear by it). I know that paint differs on cars and shades and such. Which products from your experience are the best to get. I'm talking everything and anything from wax to shampoo to tyre sheen. Please help a nonse out!
  3. Eventually yeah! I have the dreaded stone chips! I am thinking trying chipex when I get a bit more cash and sinking some decent time and money into products to preserve the paint as well.

    Number of TRD's in colours

I'll take a look at my VIN number and see then. EDIT - Looked at VIN. It does state that it is a GT86 TRD in red. I found this useful info from another site: "First 3 digits is the World Manufacturer Identifier. This tells us where and by which manufacturer the car is built. For us, this will be "JFx" (x being a number). JF says the car is built in Japan, and it's a (hold on!) SUBARU!Toyota normally uses "JTx", but both GT86 and BRZ are identified as Subaru and use "JFx".4th-8th digits are the vehicle descriptor. How this is built differs per manufacturer, but it tells them the attributes of the car, like the engine type, gearbox, things like that.9th digit is a check digit.10th digit is the building year of the car. This can be a number or a letter, with exception of some letters. In our case, C = 2012, D = 2013.11th digit is a code that represents the factory of manufacture.12th-17th digits is your car number! So just check the last 6 digits of your VIN and you know what your car number is." So it seems my red TRD is a TRD from manufacture. However it is not really clear what number my car is of the limited run. My car also has a Fuji Heavy Industries LTD (Subaru) plaque on. This states the applied model, trim code, colour code, option code and all the other stuff on the vin plate. I tried searching the trim code, option code and applied model and google returned nothing. As of now I am stuck. That's unless an official toyota employee or dealer could help me? I really want to find out more about the history of the GT86 TRD's and the run numbers.

    Dawn drive

It's a shame I was working today otherwise I would have put my name down and joined the drive!
  6. Is red my good friend. It says on my profile. Yeah I got all of that and I got some shampoo and glass cleaner and other stuff on the way so hopefully it should be good. I plan to try a lot of brands anyways!

    Number of TRD's in colours

How can I tell which part of the VIN is specific to the TRD part?
  8. I have wax, microfiber towels, chamois and buckets and that is it. I am looking at like a poorboys kit or a meguiars kit. I mainly just want shampoo, something to protect it and something for the glass, tyres and wheels. I will be hand polish it for now.

    Number of TRD's in colours

I will do some hunting later this is very interesting news! Yes it has all the bits listed. On the V5 from new it is listed as a TRD and tax and insurance pick it up as a TRD in red as well. On the original receipt from factory it says it is a red TRD as well. I have tried l looking for a TRD production number on the car but I cannot find it. I have yet to look in the manual but I can 100% confirm it is a TRD and not a GT86 with the TRD kit. It is a 14 plate if that helps as well. It just seems info on these is very rare and hard to find and I would like to know more about my car etc. Would there be anywhere in my manual to list what number it is in the production or to say it is a special 1 off? It has never been modified since it left the factory and is still stock.
  10. Jesus Christ that is a big list. I don't think I will be getting into it that much. I did some research and that list has a pricey total! I already have wax so I am just thinking about shampoo, glass cleaner and wheel cleaner and sealant for now. I looked at meguiars towels and cleaning stuff today. It seems quite good but I have yet to do more research. Thanks for your input!

BenMMellors Silver GT86 - Project Log

Dashcams are always handy and useful. I have a thinkware F770 and the app is super handy. The wires are really easy to hide in the trim as well. You will have no problems installing it.

    First proper drive

Picked up my 14' TRD today. I am in love. This car is so fun and you can enjoy it all within legal speeds! I am so glad I bought this. Now I actually see the hype. It's just so responsive and everything feels right. The only downside is my contacts won't sync with bluetooth and the stock speakers are a bit meh.

Some very good points you made there. I will definitely look into it! I presume I can track it stock but I would need to do a few laps and then back for stuff to cool?

Good morning chaps. I am picking up a 14 plate GT86 TRD edition on Tuesday. Don't have any pictures yet but hopefully I can become part of the gang! I look forward to speaking with you and going to future events! I saw you all at japfest. I wanted a GT86 and test drove one but seeing the amount of people at japfest with a passion for these sold me!

    I might be able to.
  17. Bronze/gold colour. Looked stock and didn't see any owners club stickers. However only caught a small glimpse. Anyone?

    First proper drive

Thanks guys! I sorted my contacts and Bluetooth works awesome now. I mucked around with some settings and its great now and the speakers will do fine. I definitely would like to track it eventually. Just need to get used to the car first. I don't think I will mod it being a TRD. Just leave it stock and enjoy it. It's more then powerful enough for me anyways!

No plans as of yet! I will probably keep it stock due to it being the TRD variant as I know they are pretty rare! I will take a look at the JAE thread! Awesome. Whereabouts may I ask?
