Club Events for the rest of 2019

Doesn't look like it. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
  2. Hope you all had a great summer and it was really good to see many of you at shows, track days and social events.😁 Just thinking what events we may want to do/ organise for the rest of the year. We have Fuel Coffee House meet tomorrow and Yakushi Show next weekend, but here are few more potential events to think of: Sunday, Sep 29th: Jap Show Finale at Santa Pod http://www.japshowfinale.co.uk/index.php?fbclid=IwAR00_SHI-kwCFC88Rz-a8RPVhc0Vu_FJVUBs32uFqJbZ_jxQK9KiTaMxGYk Sunday, Oct 6th: TRAX at Silverstone http://www.traxshows.co.uk/trax-silverstone-home (I know many people don't like TRAX 🙄) Sunday, Oct 6th: German vs Jap Bfast Meet at Ockham Bites Saturday, Oct 12th: Action Day Finale at Castle Combe https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/shows/action-day-finale (we don't usually have many people interested in Castle Combe events) I am also doing track days at Thruxton on Monday Sep 30th and Silverstone on Saturday Nov 16th if anyone would like to join (both with Opentrack) Club track day at Bedford last year was popular, we can do it again, good for those who want to try track days for the 1st time (although check your noise level). May be wet (and cold) but its getting reasonably inexpensive. Would be great to hear wishes and suggestions!😎

    GT86/ BRZ Breakfast @ Denbies

Lets have a breakfast meet at Denbies Sunday, November 3rd Start 9:30 am Denbies Wine Estate London Road, Dorking, RH5 6AA https://www.denbies.co.uk/finding-us/ Plan is to have a chit chat, go for a breakfast and if anyone wants they can book a tour or do Christmas wine shopping. Once we have numbers confirmed I will ask Denbies to reserve parking space for us. Hope the date works, but please shout if later in November would work better. Attendees: 1. @VAD17 +1 (organizer) 2. @Rich196 3. @Leevsfortyone 4. @Rocket Panda 5. @Luke (may be)

Autumn Motorsport Day @ Brooklands Museum

I have asked them if we can have a club stand, received no reply either by email nor returned call. Will try calling again, but expect no response again. If I manage to organise a club stand will update the post. Suggestion is to meet up, convoy and park together. Buy tickets online in advance Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Club Events for the rest of 2019

Denbies would be very happy to host us and will give us allocated parking space. Please let me know if you prefer particular date for this. I am thinking Sunday in November as there are very few events then.

Also asked Denbies if they need an advance notice and whether they can get us a dedicated parking space. How about 1st or 2nd Sunday of November for Denbies? Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
  10. Autumn Motorsport Day Brooklands Museum Sunday, October 13th Now a firm fixture in the motoring calendar, visitors to Autumn Motorsport Day get a double helping of action. Competition cars from all ages will be put through their paces on the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World circuit and later in the day Test Hill will be in action. Expect to see a wide variety of competition cars from Formula 1, F5000 and GTs to touring cars and Group B rally cars. As ever, spectators will have the rare opportunity to see and hear competition cars at close quarters. https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/autumn-motorsport-day Will aim to arrange convoy to be there by 9am closer to the date. Let me know who's joining 1. @VAD17

I tried both e-mail and calls, no response at all I guess we can just try to arrive together just before 9am and see if we can park up. I will put Autumn Motorsport Day, Oct 13th, in the calendar as a separate entry.

How do you fit your tow loop?

I had one previously (bought from Amazon.com was smth like $25). Strap looked solid (multiple cross stitched) but colour became pale after less than a year. Currently have Cusco tow hook. The tow hole in pre-2017 and 2017-onwards are different Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Club Events for the rest of 2019

I have actually asked whether we can get a club stand or at least a dedicated parking space. I guess we can always meet and convoy to arrive early enough to park together Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Some more ideas Denbies - this weekend Sep 14th-15th (for those not going to Yashushi show) its Surrey Hill Food Festival. May be busy but we can arrive early https://fantasticbritishfoodfestivals.com/surrey-hills.html - don't think its worthwhile going for one of the experiences at Denbies, we can select a "quieter" weekend and arrive a bit earlier top park together. Brooklands Museum if we want to select a day with an event: - Sunday Sep 22nd - Aviation Day https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/aviation-day - Sunday Oct 13th - Autumn Motorport Day https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/autumn-motorsport-day - Sunday Oct 27th - Autumn Motoring Breakfast https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/brooklands-autumn-classic-breakfast

Club Events for the rest of 2019

I am at Silverstone on Sat, Nov 17th for a track day (Anyone would like to join?) and would need to keep Oct 19-20th and Oct 26-27th free for school holidays. We can always do this instead of SantaPod or TRAX as well. Its also easy to combine either with German vs Jap if we want - we can convoy from Oakham Bites to Denbies for example and have lunch there (and a tour of the estate if we up for it)

Can organise both. May be a good idea to get some champagne and wine before Christmas as well from Denbies[emoji6]. Any preferred dates? Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Tyre pressures on track?

Temperature or pressure? If pressure I typically drop to 32 psi after sighting laps, then drop again to 30-31 after 1st session and keep checking so it does not go above 32 ish. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
  20. Hmm... more mods cheaper car insurance? I guess this may also depends on whether you increase declared value if the car any by how much. I will be looking for renewal quote in about a month time as well. Would be interested in a policy with additional track days cover (Greenlight does not insure in my area). Surrey newbie

Hello, and welcome onboard! Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
  22. Would anyone be interested in doing a 4-person day at North Weald Airfield with Carlimits? Cost is £225 per person https://carlimits.com/ From the Carlimits website: Airfield Driver Training Days Our most popular 2 or 4 person days operate in the safe environment of North Weald Airfield, Essex. Your instructor, Andrew Walsh or another suitably qualified and experienced instructor, will ensure the day is bespoke to your needs, using exercises that lend themselves to a variety of techniques. For example, on the high speed bend you may experience understeer and oversteer and learn how to correct them, improve your steering, learn balanced and trailing throttle, left foot braking, heel and toe and even how to control the rotation of your car and get it back inline from 90 degrees! We use a circuit around soft cones in the afternoon to put your new techniques into practise and learn even more. 4 spaces usually need to be booked well in advance. Few options below - May 9th, 2019 - August 27th, 2019 - August 28th, 2019 I'd be up for either of these 3 (August preferred). If we have enough interest (i.e. say 3 agree on the date) we can book a day and then someone else can join later.
  23. It was indeed a good day, we should do it again, good to have couple GT86s and practice in safe and friendly environment. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
