Hi Tamas and welcome to the forum. I used to live in Finchampstead just down the road from you.

    Next Car/GT86 Differences

Exactly what I've been saying. I've got BMWs out of my system now and far prefer the BRZ as a driver's car.

    Next Car/GT86 Differences

Having had four BMWs, if you like the handling of the 86 then avoid. They're all too heavy. My remapped 335d twin turbo was a rocket ship, but only in a straight line. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk
  4. Not my area of expertise, but I believe you can get maps with a flexfuel sensor to give good performance from both fuels.
  5. Can you always get E85 fuel? If not, you will need a flex fuel setup so that you can switch to petrol without requiring an ECU reprogramme.

    TD Catback exhaust group Buy?

You're worrying me, David. From what I've heard, the TD is a deeper gruntier sound which is what I'm looking for, and nowhere near the raspy spitty sound made by a Cobra exhaust, for instance. I do have my second cat in place, which is staying put. Would you say it's just noisier from the outside, or too intrusive in the cabin?

    Seat Recommendations

The stock seats in my 2017 BRZ are superb - supportive and comfortable. I've no idea whether different models, Toyota/Subaru or model years have seen the seats change in design.

    TD Catback exhaust group Buy?

I'm having a resonated exhaust installed on Monday, together with a remap to get the best from it and the looser engine (I already have the NA UEL kit). Looking forward to it!

    TPMS???

Mine are off the car at the moment so the dreaded warning light is always on. When I have winter tyres fitted to my stock wheels, they'll be back in action again. I'll only need them to get through the MOT in a couple of years' time.

    Exhaust help

That's nice, thanks James. Although I have the catless TD manifold, that should be fine. I wanted rumbly rather than raspy and it seems to be right for me.

    Exhaust help

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll be going for the resonated one. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

    Exhaust help

I've done that but could use another video for cross-checking. It's very hard to use Youtube clips to judge exhaust sound. Also, outside is more realistic of what to expect than dyno footage. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

Yes please, James, that would be really helpful.

Is that with the 2nd cat in place, James? Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

    Exhaust help

I'm thinking seriously of getting the TD resonated exhaust. I have the TD UEL decat manifold so the second cat must remain. I'm looking for free flow and not too much noise, although a barky growl wouldn't go amiss compared with the insipid stock exhaust. Hoping for a small uplift in power, mostly. The engine was new when the ECUTeK map was done so it needs a remap to best take advantage of the changes.

    Considering a Cossie GT86.....

On the noise front, have you tried blocking the sound tube into the cabin? That'll make the car even quieter than stock. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

    wheels, will they fit?

My 17x8 ET35 with 225 tyres have no poke. They are as near as dammit flush. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

Welcome, James. Another vote for the TD NA package here, it's excellent. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk
  20. The TD NA kit is a cracker and I remain very pleased with mine. I personally don't feel the need for the turbo and am put off by the need to remove the second cat, which should hopefully get me through the MOT. To be honest, the car is perfect for swooping country roads and is capable of keeping up with some significant machinery due to its great poise and handling and the improved midrange grunt. Oh, and I like the noise with the stock exhaust, too.

    Bilstein B14 coilovers - review

I can reflect your experience with the Eibachs, my H&R springs are similarly progressive and generally very good. Yes, they can get jiggly on occasion but they largely have a good balance between handing and ride quality. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

    Leaking Shocks

Thanks, guys. It does seem as if damage in fitting the springs may have been the cause. The Subaru service centre are making the warranty claim on my behalf but it's not a done deal that they will honour it.

    Leaking Shocks

During my first service last week both front shocks were pronounced leaking. The car is just a year old. They're going to be replaced under warranty tomorrow but is this a known issue? Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

    Leaking Shocks

The shocks have now been replaced. Handling was becoming quite bouncy so they really needed doing by yesterday. The damping left inside them was almost zero. Yes, lowered with H&R Super Sport springs. I can't see that being a problem as (a) hundreds of BRZ/GT86 are lowered without damage to their shocks and (b) the length of travel is reduced, not increased.

Bringing an 86 back from the dead

That sounds remarkably similar to how my CR-Z sounded with the HKS. The full name is HKS Silent Hi-Power, they're having a laugh with the inclusion of 'Silent'!
