    New BRZ/GR86 Clutch specs

If you want an OE like clutch able to take the torque from a supercharger, I can recommend the Exedy Stage 1. It feels exactly like OEM. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  2. The difference in feel between 95 and 98 RON in my car is obvious and I won't use 95 unless I'm desperate. I may be 'only commuting' but I bought the BRZ to enjoy the commute more Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  3. I use Sainsburys super unleaded 97 now because it's much more convenient for me and cheaper. I average 500 miles per week. The mpg is currently reading 33.2 (Harrop supercharged). I put some Lucas fuel additive every 2-3 fill-ups to keep the fuel system and injectors clean and that keeps it running sweetly. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk

Gosh, Tapatalk didn't do a very good job with image reduction! They feel great, Simon. Things were just starting to grind upfront and I left it knowing they were going to be replaced shortly. Apparently, PFC Z rated pads are very aggressive and I guess that's why they were effective, but my 1-year-old discs were shot! All good, now. The rear discs will need changing by my next service, so Abbey are ordering matching rear AP discs for next time.

Sadly not this one, Simon, as we'll be setting off to Yorkshire to a remote cottage for some R&R. Hope it goes well and the 'pen' is clear for you guys.

Good news: my MOT and AP Racing 330 front brakes are due this Friday at Abbey. Bad news: got a horrible dent when (presumably) a branch fell on my car during the storms. It's not terrible, on the nearside rear wheel arch, but it's enough to upset me. This, together with my bonnet looking a mess from stone chip damage and (my) poor touch-up repairs, means a probable trip to Popo's in Basingstoke soon.

    Greddy Turbo kit

I don't recommend a Sprintex, it gets very hot without the intercooler and is noisy (but a nice noise). I had to buy a vented bonnet for my previous car because of the heat. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  11. I've had a couple of issues with TD. The first was that they fitted their full exhaust without giving me a choice between resonator and super-resonator. The standard resonator was far too loud and obnoxious so I had to order a super-resonator pretty much immediately. The super-resonator has twice needed welding at the connection between inlet pipe and the large section because it failed. More problematic was the proximity of the UEL manifold to my top hose, which twice burned it requiring replacement. I could not get the clearance more than a few mm. Manufacturing tolerances meant that I dumped it in favour of a Rogue EL manifold, that gave me more power with the supercharger, too. Mike was always helpful with me but you do take a hit when selecting inexpensive components from a small company.

What do you mean by "car's heritage"? Curious.

They really feel good, too. I'm surprised at how a gear knob makes the shifting feel more precise.

    Michelin Pilot Sport 5?

Just to muddy the waters, there's a Pilot Sport All Season 4 that piqued my interest, but I haven't found them in this country at all. Michelin Pilot Sport ALL SEASON 4 - Real World Review - YouTube

    Hello, I'm Lisa

Welcome to the Drivers' Club, Lisa. That gear knob has taken some beating!
  18. Yes, I get that on my supercharged BRZ. It doesn't bother me much as my commute is mostly medium-high speed but the pickup after slowing down for a roundabout, dropping to 2nd and then giving it some throttle is a momentary hesitation. Interestingly, throttle response at any other revs is lightning fast.

Too late - already ordered from Scott! With a white car and red stitching/highlights, the red calipers seemed the natural choice. The Pads are Ferodo DS2500, does anyone know how they compare with my current PFC Z Rated pads?

The car is boosted well with the Harrop/Rogue/TD performing beautifully, it handles just right with the H&R Super Sport springs and Bilstein B8s, there's plenty of grip balanced with playfulness from the 235/40 PS4s on 18 x 8.75" XXRs, and I've adorned it with some subtle personalisations. What next? Time, finally, for a big brake kit. I'm keeping it sensible. After all, my car is strictly for road use as my daily commuter. After discussing it with Scott at Abbey Motorsport, I'm going with an AP Racing 330 kit for the fronts. Just braided lines for the rears, keeping the stock calipers/discs and Cosworth Streetmaster pads. It's booked in, together with the MOT, for 1st April as I try to make each visit to Abbey a worthwhile one. At least the car should be clean by then.

Did you not buy the cloth cover (they call it a beanie) for really cold days? I'm not sure I'll ever use mine, though, as I rather like the solid, weighty coolness of it

The Billetworkz gear knob has arrived, custom engraved with Japanese shift pattern and STi logo. I chose a weighted model with lightbulb shape in gloss black.
