Another vote for PS4's, currently running Yoko AD08RS but when I next need tyres I'm going to go back to PS4 as they have the edge in wet grip and very similar dry grip. Here's the cheapest price I can find, in the stock size: https://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s15p135294/Michelin_Tyres_Car_Michelin_Pilot_Sport_4_PS4_-_215_45_R17_(91Y)_XL_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_C_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_71dB

@James18 I haven't really considered anything yet as it's quite far down on my priorities.

26/01/2020 - Donington Park Trackday As I'm sure most of you know, the club recently attended a trackday at Donington Park, thanks to @VAD17 for organising. This was to be my first trackday of 2020, at a circuit I've never driven before desite being the closest circuit to where I live at less than 30miles away. Knowing that it was a January trackday I didn't have much hope for the weather, thankfully the morning was dry but very greasy. These conditions meant it was very tricky for even the most experienced drivers and I don't think I've been to another trackday which had as many red flags as Donington did in the morning. Which was a shame as I didn't get alot of seat time, my longest session was about 25 minutes. I litterally left our pit garage only to be stopped at the end of the pit straight as the track had just been red flagged, however this meant I was to be the first one out in the next session. It helped that there was a couple of very slow cars right behind me, so I could get some space on track with no one else to immediately worry about. I made sure I got as much seat time as possible during that session, and eventually the track started to dry out. Below is a video of that session, taking it easy whilst trying to learning the circuit. (This is footage taken from the new GoPro Hero 8 which I'm testing - unfortunately the free video editor I'm using didn't use the best export ratio, which is why the footage is square) The rest of the day was abit of a mess, I think I only had one more clean session as there were numerious red flags or the condition changed. It started to rain just before lunch and the afternoon was very wet. Unfortunately the AD08RS don't really like greasy conditions, they are fine in the dry or full on wet, but in between not so much. @Adi had has instructor there for the afternoon and I listened whilst the instructor and @Hokum discussed what lines to take during wet conditions, this helped massively during my next session. Overall I think I managed 6 or 7 sessions during the day, mostly because of the number of red flags and people needing to be towed back to the pits. However atleast I can now say I've done Donington and I'm eager to go back during the summer. Here are a couple of photos:

January 2020 - New Year Plans Happy New Year everyone. I hope everyone had an excellent break and are eager as I am to get straight back into the car season. Here's a quick run down of my plans for this year: 1. Order a set of forged wheels. 2. Order a set of track brake pads and new disc's (need to check the life on existing discs - any idea's how you do this?) 3. Go on a European Roadtrip. 4. Do atleast 1 European trackday. 5. Get the car detailed (resealed). Possible's: 1. Order Harrop Supercharger (or save the money and use towards a house deposit/new Supra). 1a. New clutch 2. Rear Wing or spoiler. 3. Look into buying a bucket seat. So far it's looking good, I've got 2 items sorted and another 2 in the works, more the be revealed when they arrive/happen.

September 19 - Exhaust Issue The weekend after I arrived home from Snetterton I decide to jack the car up and have a look to see if I could see where the exhaust was blowing from. Hoping it would be a gasket and a simple fix. After spending 10 minutes on the floor I eventually found a stress crack in the large central resonator. Boo, not a simple fix. Fortunately the car was booked in at Rogue Motorsport to have it's 6 year services, in the process of booking it in I informed them of the issue. The exhaust was all custom made by Rogue and they were happy to fix it free of charge. Whilst I could call this a design flaw in the system, I'm aware of two other manufacture's systems which have had exactly the same issue in the same place. Speaking to Rogue they said this was probably due to vibrations/harmonics when the car is put under heavy load and they suggested replacing the one larger central resonator with two smaller ones and a support relief. Here's a photo of the crack, unfortunately I didn't get any photo's of the replacement pipe.

Here are some of the others car that attended. The Aston's were setting up for a test day on the friday/weekend.

Update 29/08/19 - Snetterton Trackday Following on from the trackday at Bedford on Tuesday, I headed to Norfolk to spend a couple of days away with the family and also do another trackday, this time at Snetterton. Normally Snetterton is a 3hour drive away and not a journey I want to be doing before and after a track day, so this was ideal. Unfortunately as I previously mentioned the exhaust started blowing at Bedford, I'd had a quick look under the car and couldn't see anything so I assumed it was just a gasket. The blowing noise was coming from the center of the car, by the front pipe to central resonator area. I decided to carry on and head to Snetterton and thankfully the issue didn't get worse on the drive there. Snetterton was a fun day, which lots of cool cars and good driving standards. When I arrived at the circuit I noticed there was another 86/BRZ owner, who'm I spoke to and he let me share his garage, which was very nice of him, unfortunately he doesn't use any social platforms so I'll probably never meet him again ☹️ Other than the issue with the exhaust the car performed well. It was a very warm day but cooler than the previous day at Bedford so the tyres felt alot better and didn't seem to have any issue's. Here's a couple of photo's from the day:

Differences between BRZ SE and BRZ SE Lux?
will300 replied to Lussoman's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
If I remember correctly the SE had cloth seats where as the SE Lux had half leather / alcantara heated seats. -
Bump, breakfast meet is this Saturday.

Are you running a completely stock setup at the moment, i.e. stock pads & discs?

If you're after a seat of side mount rails have a look at these (not sure if they'll ship over here though): http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137015 Also worth a read: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53473&highlight=aftermarket+seats

Cobra didn't do seat mounts when I spoke to them 6 months ago, you need to use aftermarket ones. They were looking at making some car specific ones, but I've not followed this up.
-
Rouge buy the parts in and then fab the exhaust in house. Probably best to speak to them @Adi

@vanko25 recently changed his original cluster to a 2017+ cluster, might be worth sending him a PM.

Visit this website: https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall and then click the: Check if a car has a safety recall link. You enter the reg and it lists the MOT history and any recalls. You can also check on the Toyota website here: https://www.toyota.co.uk/owners/vehicle-information/recall-checker but this won't show you the MOT history.

Welcome Mick It might be worth popping into Evan Halshaw in Walsall as they have a black 2014 (63 reg) car, for £10,770. Not sure if it has SatNav, however it doesn't have any out standing recalls and has 11months MOT (till Oct 2020): https://www.evanshalshaw.com/search/vehicledetails/used-car-toyota-gt86--manual-petrol-white-coupe-sm63opk/ I'd recommend you take your time and read up on the Recall as, due to your budget you'll be buying a car around the affected age (12-14) Thanks Will

Bump!

You can get a specific tool to measure tyre hardness, it's called a durometer. It'll help you get an idea of how hard your tyres are, ideally you need to have a baseline to begin with when the tyres are new. )

For daily use I run mine at 5 clicks from full stiff(front & rear), after alot of trial and error I found it gave the best sporty ride without sacrificing too much comfort.

Hi @Rob@FrankieJ's It'll be worth having a read of both @smudge build thread and @Samwise build thread (could be the one @ttjt16 is referring to). With regards to a shell, speak to the guys at Roger Clark Motorsport (the Subaru specialist) https://rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk, as they had one they were selling recently. It might also be worth speaking to the guys at Turbo Monkeys as they buy alot of salvage cars to sell on / do up. https://www.facebook.com/Turbomonkeytuning/ Finally here are a couple of companies that have done engine swaps on an 86/BRZ (that I'm aware of), Carson performance, MnM Engineering, Rogue Motorsport & Turbo Monkeys. Also worth a read is Nigel's build thread:

Hi Mark Do you specifically want that one? Myself & @Deacon have the Block8Head one which goes in the dash air vent and have a dual Spa Design Oil Temp & Pressure guage. See @Deacon's build thread: A fellow member Dilan is selling a dual version on the Facebook sales page, here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1581880765452137/permalink/2097889147184627/?sale_post_id=2097889147184627

It's normal, had it for a couple of years when using the stock exhaust, it's not as noticable on my current setup (then again it's not really been cold enough for me to notice it recently)
