  1. Reluctant sale, wanting it to go to someone who will enjoy it and look after it. Rarely used. Kept on driveway and under car cover. Red 63 plate, 25,689 miles. Mileage will go up as I do a long distance drive once a week. Rare full leather interior, not seen many with full leather interior which was an optional extra provided by Toyota at £1600. Exterior TRD spoiler TRD side aero fins (wrapped in carbon effect). Sharkfin antenna Valenti lights (original lights will be provided) Valenti Smoked side indicators (original provided) Black Toyota badges Rear Carbon fibre effect diffuser Tinted back window and rear quarters Interior Aftermarket radio (original provided) Reversing camera Brushed aluminimum reverse selector on gear knob. Carbon fibre wrapped dash hood. Leather Armrest Heated full leather seats; TRD seat belt covers/padding Cusco Accelerator pedal Intec roof mounted 3rd Brake light Mechanical and engine Tomei UEL manifold (original provided), fitted by Fensport and mapped by them with 4 maps using Ecutek. Avo stainless steel catback exhaust (original provided) Tein Flex A coilovers (original provided) Japan Racing JR18 alloys with Michelin Pilot sport S (original provided with wet tyres on) Red induction hose (original provided) MOT until 15th September 2021 Serviced around the same time by Toyota, last two services performed by Toyota once to fix recalls and recently last year because I haven't had time due to work. All other services done by family members with dates and mileage done. Might be able to find receipts if needed. Bad point: left valenti light has had the moisture issue that seems to have plagued all GT86's, unfortunately when drying the moisture out with silicone gel for some reason the casing got cracks on it but they don't leak. Tried to repair the best I can. Will get pictures when I can. I'm sure there are things I have missed and I will update accordingly with more recent photos. Location: Hillingdon £12750 ono Unfortunately I don't have the time to put a lot of this back to original spec. A few things were fitted when I bought it; TRD spoiler, sharkfin aerial, reversing camera, armrest, valenti lights. If someone has the time and know how; or knows someone they can get a real bargain by taking parts off and selling seperately. Apologies if I have missed anything and feel free to ask and will try to answer the best I can.

How do we report a user

Just got a message from a user with dodgy links. You may have already deleted their profile. Thanks.

How do we report a user

Ok thanks, just done it. I couldn't find it on my phone where I originally created this post. I assume when I report the PM you are able to see it? Sorry, I have only just got around to checking all the replies.
  4. I have been reading and watching lots of information on this car. Definitely looks like a fun car to drive. If I could afford to have 2 cars this would be my second car. Might try and get a test drive one day. Finally a decent car advert too; aimed at petrol heads. No silly music, no dancing cars spinning around, no more SUV's etc etc and they drive on the correct side of the road in this advert.

    Wiper blade

Hi, Just a quick question, can someone please confirm which size the drivers side wiper blade is? and the size of the passenger wiper blade? I have 22" on drivers side and 20" on passenger side. I had a crack in my windscreen and autowindscreen came out and changed it. I have now noticed the passenger blade is higher than it should be. So I think he has fitted them the wrong way round. Thanks.

    Wiper blade

thanks, yes will have to move them slightly. The guy tested them in front of me and they worked fine, but when you standing outside you don't notice they higher up until you get in and see the passenger side is blocking your view almost.
  7. Another surprise extra on my car It appears to have a remap already done? I was reading a forum post on here the other day and thought I must try that out one day. So I pulled the cruise control stalk towards me when I got home and was then able to move it up and down to 4 different positions. I assume that means it has had it done? as that is not original stock? I just need a quiet empty road to try them out. I can only assume they are set to the 4 defaults? Copied from Fensport "Map 1: The default map when you switch your car on is our "Full Performance Road" map, for use with 97+ ron fuel, ie: Super Unleaded. 7,650rpm rev limit. This map is also configured for economy on cruise. Map 2: Is also "Full Performance" and adds Launch Control and Full throttle gearchange. 7,650rpm rev limit. Map 3: Also "Full Performance" and adds Launch Control and Full throttle gearchange and Auto Blip on downchange. 7,650rpm rev limit. Map 4: 95 Ron map, can be used with normal unleaded fuel when super unleaded is unavailable. Rpm limit is reduced to standard 7,400rpm. Note: this map produces lower power than map 1,2 or 3. (This map can be configured to customer spec)" If I was to visit another trader, they would be able to remap to something I want? or check everything is ok. I can't say it feels different to the stock aero I test drove at a dealer, but then that was a few months back. Or it probably won't improve much on the BHP if everything else is stock I assume.

    Covid lockdown battery issues

I've had mine on charge for a week so I'm ok. I hardly use my car anyway so I'm use to not using my car. However I may use it now and then for work, but I only work 2-3 miles away.

    2013 red gt86 breaking

PM Sent if you still have anything and hopefully the part I need. 🤞
  10. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they did, how did they open their boot lol? Tried the button under the boot; which is what I normally do. I tried it about 2 weeks ago and it didn't open then and I thought oh maybe it's just playing up as my car seems to have some really funny moments. Now today I just tried opening it and it wouldn't open still. Tried both keys, tried the boot button on the keys (which does nothing). Tried the boot button inside the car. I did have an issue few months ago when the boot wouldn't close as the latch or something wasn't open so it wouldn't close. I can't remember what I did but I think I just pushed it out the way and closed it. And quite a few months before that it wouldn't close, think I just put some oil or WD40 on some of the parts. To be honest, I'm getting really annoyed with this car. I wish I kept my Suzuki Swift Sport 5+ years of ownership, not a single thing went wrong, and I mean not a single little thing. Anyway, if anyone has any advice or am I having to go through the back seats and somehow undo the whole boot? Or give me some confidence in I made the correct decision in buying this car or why I should keep owning this unreliable car.
  11. @Mike I did try a few things to stop the rubber getting caught, like trying to hold it from inside, tried also some non stick cleaner on the rubber to make it very slippery so it doesn't stick to glass when it moves up, but it didn't work. Edit: Toyota dealer has called, they will take a look at the boot. Although might try to fix myself before then as the appointment is a few weeks away.
  12. @knightryder Ahh I have had the rattles too. Rust in places too, but I suspect that is just normal and normal for all cars after time. I clean it regularly and often keep it under a car cover before someone says "urgh you don't look after it properly". I also do very low mileage, it's only just hit 20k. I am always looking at new and old cars and keeping in touch with the latest cars etc, but the replacements I want are probably not quite as nice to drive and/or quite expensive. @Church Yes the window thing is out of warranty, it's not a major issue, but it's something that shouldn't occur on any car. The sharkfin antenna was loose when I got it (I wasn't aware of it when I bought the car, it's not something you check), so I've had to stick it down again. Well it can't find any radio station except classical, which is ok if you like that. Luckily I have an aftermarket radio now fitted so I can connect my phone to it via bluetooth, but then there are issues with that, but that is my fault I guess for buying aftermarket parts. Does your passenger seat stay fixed when you pull the lever then? say you wanted to get into the back of your car, you pull the lever and you try to get in but it keeps sliding back so you can't get in. I thought that was a common issue.
  13. Yes it was about oil and spark plugs, but then you said to check the oil look at the dipstick to which I replied how can you tell which type of oil they put in by looking at the dipstick, then you started talking about the different oils 🤣 Oh well, drifted from topic. Still waiting for that call from the technician; I called again today and they said he would call back...
  14. Not sure why you are telling me about the oil; I am aware of oil. Useful for others though I guess. I have done all the oil changes since I bought the car.
  15. @Gray I think that is the only way. I was hoping this technician guy would call today regarding the Valve recall and was going to ask him, but he didn't call. I may have a look through the back seats at some point on the weekend if I get time. @knightryder No unfortunately there is no manual key release. Shame as you though there would be, like there is on the drivers door in case of the battery dieing in your fob. @PhilR Mine are probably only related to my car. But 2 issues with the glass, scratches on my windows I believe because of the motors or something in the doors, I also seem to be the only one who has an issue with the rubber of the drivers door getting caught when the window goes up when you close the door and every time I take it back to get a recall for something I forget to mention to them; it's not major but both are annoying on car that cost me this much. I have issues with the radio, probably due to the fact that the dealer I bought it from had the sharkfin antenna fitted. Small battery fitted (everyone has that issue). Boot issues. Poor quality paintwork in that it's very thin layer. The button on the rear seats to drop them down doesn't fit properly, it's all loose and you have to sort of tap it down. Passenger front seat, when you roll it forward it keeps sliding back; granted it's probably not an issue as it's meant to be that way, but why? I don't know. Then I have issues with modifications that were done, but that is my fault I guess. I should have never fitted any aftermarket parts. However, I'm sure yours will be fine. I am just unlucky. Edit: Sorry yes they are little things, but things I haven't experienced before and not something I expected. Mechanically, well I guess it's ok apart from this recall where they have to take the engine out.
  16. @Notaricer How can you tell they put the correct oil in by looking at the dipstick. Anyway, the guy was meant to ring today, he didn't. Why am I not surprised.
  17. Thanks, I'll speak to this guy who is going to call me about the recall tomorrow. He might not know, but I can ask if he can take a look, although not sure how he can take a look, you can't open it to look at it 🤣
  18. No I don't have a TRD. You said that last time. I wish I did lol. Well sorry but I don't trust any garage. Any garage would find a way to save money and parts that you can't physically see like oil and the spark plugs (unless you want to go through the hassle of checking it), they can quite easily put cheap stuff in. That's my opinion anyway. Won't go into long details but have had bad experiences of every single garage I have been to.
  19. It's not in warranty.
  20. Tried someone pushing down on boot while I hold boot button inside, doesn't work. Any other ideas? Crash it and claim it on insurance maybe?
  21. Yes that's what I did and that's when they said they would send me a letter for when it's ready. Edit: I have just called my local Toyota branch, the guy that has been doing them is not in today and will call me tomorrow. The lady said on the phone that they need it for a week. I asked if they could change spark plugs at same time, she said yes they do that full service anyway. I asked is that all free of charge, and she said yes. Although I never trust them with the cheap oil they put in, they probably put some cheap spark plugs in and I will have no way of knowing. I also asked if he has done many before, she said yes he has done quite a few over the past few weeks. He can only do one a week. So that all adds up to what others have been saying on here.
  22. Thanks, Is that how you open it via the boot button inside the car? You hold it down until it clicks?
  23. Sorry I should have mentioned I did try pushing down on boot and then pushing button while doing so and then trying to open. But I can try with pushing down and someone pushes button inside car. Thanks @nikndel When pushing the button inside the car I have noticed nothing happens when you push the button quickly, but if I hold it down it makes a clicking sound (sounds like an electronic clicking sound), can someone confirm if that is normal. Thanks. @matrixprotein It's not the first issue I have had with the car, I have had many issues. Well not many, but way more than I thought I would have gotten from a Japanese car costing this much. Maybe it is my own fault for not using the car that much. I hate selling cars though; so much hassle.
