I will check if I was to go ahead. Certainly with Morris I spoke to a chap and gave him car value and value of insurance and he was happy with it. Think I was quote £450 for 6 trackdays in that case. Did you have to specify the dates for all the days, or can you buy a block and call them off as you use them?

    Supercharger stopped working?

I don't know if it's a passive or active bypass on these, but as everything seems okay mechanically it would suggest an air leak to me. Either bypass valve stuck open or a hose popped off.

2.5 litres of coolant in the Harrop so that's ~2.5kg difference there.

Yeah, I'd have thought there's a few kgs max difference between them.

Fuel level and the spacesaver spare in the boot probably.

When I corner weighted mine with the SC, HKS exhaust and ~1/2 a tank of fuel it was 1270kg 56:44.

I reset my mpg in the afternoon after you'd asked, averaged 8.6mpg, the price of power!

11/06/17 - MK Meets and Eats

As the Pistonheads Sunday Service and British GT are on at Silverstone this day there will be a change of time and venue. I'll confirm times for the meal once the timetable for British GT is released, but it will likely be around 5 to 6pm at the Fox and Hounds in Whittlebury (about 5mins from Silverstone and plenty of parking).

Mine was 80 dB(A) static at 4500rpm when measured at Bedford if that helps. Stock manifold, Cobra HFC and Spec L catback.

They are pretty expensive now, I was lucky enough to buy mine when the price was lowest last year. Not planning on selling mine so can't help you there I'm afraid!

Good to see another Harrop equipped car on here :-) I went for the HKS Spec L, cruising around its no louder than stock but loud enough when you want it to be.

Or you could join me and some friends at Anglesey on July 12th [emoji185] That's not a Javelin day though is it? Could do Snetterton in June and then Anglesey in July.

There's still time for Blyton at the end of May. I fancy going back to Snetterton in June or July with some brakes that work this time as well!

No wonder you've been quiet! Looks like a top job, look forward to hearing it :-)
  18. If you want to have a play about with spring and ARB rates this spreadsheet I made should come in handy: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/87478421/GT86 and BRZ Spring and ARB Rate Comparison.xlsx As Deacon pointed out you really need to convert spring rates in to wheel rates to understand the difference in steady-state cornering balance you get with different setups. Happy to answer any questions you might have about how the spreadsheet works.

    Manifold quandary

This is my understanding too - there will be differential expansion of the engine block and the manifold runners, so without flex or slip joints the manifold will crack. It increases the risk of cracking, but a well made manifold should be fine. Something, somewhere will bend/deflect to account for the changes in size.

    Manifold quandary

The flex is to cope with differential thermal expansion as the manifold grows in size as it heats up. If there's no flex then something else has to got to deform to account for the change in size.

    Dan J's BRZ

A few pictures from Bedford yesterday with the new rear spoiler fitted. The Spec L exhaust recorded 80dB at 4500rpm, plenty of headroom for when the stock manifold is ditched
