  1. I am putting up for sale my Brand new never used Motec M150 package My package consists of: :- Motec M150 ECU :- Motec ‘Toyota 86 2012 Engine Swap’ license :- Motec Toyota 86 plug and play harness :- Motec LTC Module (The LTC module allows you to connect any wideband O2 sensor to the ECU to get the best possible AFR readings to the ECU) In total these added up to £3236 bought directly from Fensport. Please note that although the license is for an engine swap (the more expensive one), the license can be changed to use the normal FA20 engine for free, won't cost anything. I am selling all these as a single package for £2000 shipped via DHL to anywhere in Europe. Feel free to PM me if you're interested. These have never been used, not even test fitted nothing. They are still sitting in the same packaging that they arrived in from fensport. here are some photos of the items:

    Fully Built Engine advice

Hi all, long time no see ehh!? So judging by the title of this topic you can probably tell that my 2JZ build didn't turn out so well... Basically i got damn sick and tired of being ripped off time and time again, let down by suppliers, spending stupid amounts of money and still having nothing after 7+ months. I now have a Precision 6062 Turbo, wastegate, a bloody expensive motec ECU and other bits and bobs. So plans are changing. I'm sticking with the fa20 and slapping on that big precision turbo i have. BUT, since the fa20 engine from factory is built from paper, cardboard and crafts glue i want to fully build, fully forge the engine with the best parts possible. Here is where i REALLY need your help guys please. i am looking for an engine builder who is an absolute expert with the FA20 and has a spectacular track record. What i want to do is ship my engine out to him and i want the whole engine built and taken care of. Here is what i'm looking to do: Pistons Rods big fat wrist pins bearings Head studs Head porting (if needed) cams (if needed) oil pump (if needed) oil baffle plate all new seals and performance gaskets all round (especially the DI seals) Any machine work and balancing (i want all components balanced) I want no less than 400 WHP on 98 octane fuel. and i want the engine to be capable to handle much more than that so it will be reliable (eg a 600HP built engine running 400HP should be reliable). So basically i'm looking for a full turn key solution. I ship the engine, they do the magic and send it back to me. I got fed up waiting basically and now want to finish this car off and drive it again. Do you know a performance place in the UK that can meet the above requirements or should i ship it out to the states? If so i'd like to get in contact, pay some money, and have the engine shipped over ASAP to start. Thanks all Kind Regards, Andrew

    Smudge's supercharged V8 build

hahahaha you guys crack me up! @smudge first off great project going on here! Can't wait to see the final product Quick question for you (a couple actually) if you don't mind: 1) In terms of mechanics, what original parts did you keep and will be fitting to the new engine? Up till now the only things i see worth keeping are: alternator, AC compressor and Engine harness plug. But i can see that you also have the starter motor and some other bits? 2) What gearbox will you be using for this build? That is the only missing piece to my puzzle and forking out 6K for a used high milage V160/V161 6-speed supra getrag gearbox is not an option for me. I heard some people talk about putting a 6 speed BMW Getrag box but i still can't find the right one. Looking forward to seeing this beast come to life! I'm sure you've come across this already but just in case, there is a whole video series on youtube showing a 1uz-fe engine swap into a GT86. It's a whole series and quite detailed. part 1 is here

Trip To London - Essex Social 25th March

Guys, friday is a bank holiday so i will be off from the morning. Unless it's inconvenient for someone we can do a morning/afternoon meet if the evening is a hassle. Other than that we can do a saturday morning or else any other day after 6PM except for Wednesday which is not an option. Thanks for the response guys, appreciate it

    Fuel prices

Price for fuel in Malta is €1.31 (£0.97) and we only get 95RON ;( (well they say it's 95RON, when me and a buddy of mine did tests the bests we found at stations was 93RON) you can imagine the frustration of running a tuned car here...

    HKS SC V2

Did you dyno the car before the supercharger? for comparison's sake. Also what fuel are you running? 95 RON, 98 RON? Seems to be a very low HP figure for the HKS V2 (assuming you're running on 98RON or higher) Kind Regards, Andrew
  18. I would be VERY interested in a service bulletin number for the hopefully finally fixed chirpy fuel pump that has been driving me crazy! I can then happily hop to my local Toyota dealer and show him the code. Thanks :)

Provincial Grand Essex GT86 Brigade Meet

Hey guys, Please excuse the last minute decision but as rob said due to the recent events it's not the best time to travel :/ hopefully the situation gets better over time. Thanks rob and keith for keeping everyone up to date. I was really looking forward to meeting you lot! P.S. Rob please arrange for my cut out to have a laptop in 1 hand and a supercharger in the other one also i'm about 5"5 so it will keep the cardboard costs down Have a great one tomorrow chaps! Car Won't Lock?

i think i can chime in on this. I had it happen to me on several occasions and it is darn right annoying! for me the issue was with the hood close sensor. It's located on the driver's side near the hood bracket. Try to open the bonnet, hold the switch down with your hand (it has a rubber boot on it, just press the whole thing down) and try to lock with your key fob. see if it works.
  21. Hi Guys, So i'm finally chasing more boost and because of more boost, high temperatures on the island and crappy fuel i've decided to go for a water injection system. (Yes i know might be controversial but i'm confident it's going to work). The water injection will save me the 31 Euros Octane booster i have to put in with every tank of fuel (since inherently it deters knock), and allows me to have a more consistent, Air to fuel ratio without any surprises. Also keeps the engine clean from the inside which is a bonus The 2 Main questions i would like to discuss with you bunch of bright monkeys are these: 1) Where should i place the water injection nozzle? I will also be fitting an IAT sensor to measure charged air temps which will be sitting right before the throttle body. My Concern is that if i don't find a proper location for the water injection nozzle, over time the mist will start to condense around the IAT sensor forming water droplets. Something the engine won't be too happy about. I was thinking about 2 possible locations, illustrated in this image below. Which location do you recommend? 1 or 2? : 2) Use a Water Meth mix or a Water Ethanol Mix. Adrian is an avid believer of Water Methanol and told me to go for that. But all the guys here inMalta are telling me to go with a water Ethanol mix. Their arguments are that ethanol is less corrosive on the block, you'll have to compensate less in your fuel maps for the added spray (since methanol and ethanol are fuels on the stock trims i'll be running rich so we have to dial the fuel back a bit to compensate) and an ethanol mix lasts longer than a methanol mix. What are your views on this? Thanks for all the help and opinions guys, really appreciate it Kind Regards, Andrew

    Water Injection Nozzle Location

@Sonic, Thanks for your input. I'm understanding your point regarding spraying pre-compressor but i might not have elaborated on my no1 reason for going water meth injection. maybe this would make a difference: I would like to get the injection system primarily to reduce knock as much as i can so i will be able to run the same high performance map on our "below-par" 95RON fuel without having to add any octane boosters or accelerators to the fuel. (To my knowledge) having the injection system pre-supercharger will reduce temps by a lot BUT not much of that methanol will be left after going through the charger therefore not much will be left to go into the engine itself thus not getting the "best" knock deterrent possible. Where as if i were to put the nozzle right before the throttle body (post-supercharger) i might not get the lowest intake temps but i'll get the best knock deterrence possible. Is my information true or false? Thanks for your input all Andrew

    Nige's Wide Body Project

You never fail to impress @Nigelr32! It's really nice to see a build from an analytics person! Very cool to see that there is a reasoning, data and calculations to every single thing you do! A proper build! Dare i say it will be one of the top in Europe once you're done with it? P.S. Loving your fallback plan to the ballz out 2jz once the FA fails
