MartinT 514 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the pin holding the reverse lockout shifter out? Some videos suggest using a 'push-pin' while another uses a hex key and hammer. What is the best tool for the job?
jedmondson 9 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 Definitely the push pin with a hammer. Can take a while with a fair bit of force but it will go.
MartinT 514 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 Thanks, so where do I get a push pin from? Do you know the diameter?
jedmondson 9 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 I can't remember the exact diameter but I bought this set from toolstation: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p44554.

Minion 132 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 I just used a very small allen key and steadily tapped it out with a hammer, easy enough if your careful 1 Mark-in-Stoke reacted to this
Foulsmell 120 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 I used a micro screwdriver and hammered it out. There are a couple of vids on YouTube.
Sighe98 13 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 Sorry if I sound silly, what is this reverse lockout all about? Is it just replacing the black sleeve you pull up to go into reverse?

MartinT 514 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 Thanks, all. I've ordered a small set of push-pins dead cheap from eBay. @Sighe98 yes it's so that I can replace the black metal collar with a red one to match the red stitching in my car.
