Clutch release bearing, covered under warranty?

Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone share their views/knowledge on this subject?

My release bearing seems to rattle a little on idle with clutch not pressed and goes when I press the clutch.

Do Toyota class this as driveline or clutch system, as in wearable item?

Admittedly the car is now supercharged but this in my eyes this component doesn't  transfer the power anyway.. but might porvide the dealer with a bit of 'a wriggle out of it manouver'. I bought the car from the local dealer with 11.5k on the clock last year in june/july and it only has done ~2.5k since.. it's not too bad really but it annoys me. What do you think? Cheers for  any input.

If it comes back then take it in. As you said the release bearing doesn't transfer any power so the supercharger wouldn't effect it. Unless it's been absolutely ragged it'll have failed to soon to be wear and tear so would be covered by warranty.

If it does come back don't let the dealer try wriggle out of it because of the charger, they would have to prove it is caused by the charger and not a manufacturing issue.
