Mark-in-Stoke 488 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 Just wondering what you guys would advise "tyre wise" if I were to get a set of staggered wheels front 18x8.5 and rear 18x9.5. your thoughts would be most welcome

Mark-in-Stoke 488 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 Dave. have you got any close up pic's of your set up, interested to see the amount of stretch on them, and also what did you go 40 or 35 on the side wall. Lauren, thanks.
Dankool 25 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 I have 8.5 225/40 on the front and 9.5 235/40 on the rear
rob275 1817 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 I think what has been mentioned above is bang on, anything else you're only going to be overtiring the car IMO unless you are putting down some serious power (350+) at the wheels. All of this could play a part to your alignment so I still advise you send Mark a PM
Mark-in-Stoke 488 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 Cheers Dan & Rob, if I do go ahead and have a change I think I will go the 225 and 245 route, looked at loads n loads of pic's today almost drove myself mad.

Mark-in-Stoke 488 Report post Posted May 20, 2015 Well I have had some sound advice from a couple of people I regard as very knowledgeable with wheels and tyres, so thought I'd just throw the question out there and see other people think. Do you think this would work or would the rears be better at 245x35? wheels 18x8.5F and 9.5R 225x40 F 245x40 R
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted May 20, 2015 Check the rolling radius, there is a site somewhere where you can find this out. I would say going up two sizes in width definitely needs a reduction in profile, so 35's are the obvious choice really. Unless you want it to look like a drag car? 1 Mark-in-Stoke reacted to this

Mark-in-Stoke 488 Report post Posted May 20, 2015 Lauren, I've done that and the 35's have a 4.25mm smaller rad and the 40's are 8mm larger, I don't think I'd notice the 8mm. why so much choice hot rod?? now there's an idea!
