SamHarrison 10 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 Hello, Can people help? I took my GT86 in to the garage for a service, got a courtesy which long story short now has a large dent in the wheel arch as if someone has fallen into the car. Now is the bit I am not sure about and would like help, how much is it going to cost me. I signed a Collision damage waiver but I'm not sure if I am still liable for the excess of £1000 which seems very steep, if someone can advise that would be great. See picture below of wording.... rob275 1817 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 No, the £10 you paid covers up to £1000 damage. Considering it sounds like about £50 of damage at best I wouldn't be concerned.
SamHarrison 10 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 Thanks for your reply Rob, I think a new wing maybe in order in all honestly thats why I am/was worried. Asked a PDR guy and he said he wouldn't be able to do much with it. Must have been a right fat sh*t that fell into it, better the Yaris than the GT86 i suppose. Bail 33 Report post Posted July 9, 2014 Yeah you are fine, it's saying that the £1000 excess applies, however the collision damage waiver will pay that excess for you, so you aren't liable for anything. Don't even fix it, that might give them cause to void the insurance and make you liable again, give it back and let the dealership deal with it.
SamHarrison 10 Report post Posted July 11, 2014 Hello, Sorry for the late reply. I just gave them the car back, they noticed it and he just smiled and gave me my keys. Guess it may have been there all along or didn't care, either way not my problem any more.
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted July 11, 2014 Happy days. These are courtesy cars after all they get repaired at cost I should think, probably not a big deal.
rob275 1817 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 To be fair the majority of courtesy cars i'd seen they don't even bother repairing as they know they will get knocks again. I personally have never dinked one but always get one with a dink or two.
