What is the indicator light for on the right side of the satnav/audio unit? Looks a bit like an afterthought! No mention in the manual.

Is there a way to change the dip direction of headlights (for driving in France) or do I have to stick stickers on?

You mean the led in the image below (highlighted)?

 

Its something to do with the alarm.

Will I can't see the image below, but there is a little LED indeed for the alarm.

 

With regards to headlights, no, unless you buy a new set of headlights

Regarding travelling abroad - as far as I know you will need to use stickers.  I used these - they were easy to fit (very clear instructions) and equally easy to remove.

I can't understand why Subaru placed theirs there.....the GT86 has theirs tucked away by the Boot release button.....bit random.

 

And yeah, no option to switch light directions but you can switch your digital speedo to km/h which is pretty handy (though for some reason european cars don't have the option to switch at all, they're stuck in km/h and they read km for their trip computer too.
