  2. That was just the GT1 piston design.

    We have since added:

    1. GT1 bump stop: Progressive rate bump stop design to come into play progressively to aid comfort.

    2. GT1 CNC damper shaft seal / wear tape: CNC made in house using Ultrasound tested Austrian Polyurethane.
The combination increase durability and reduce stiction, and is the main part responsible for the lifetime warranty.
    3. Dual gas chamber seal:  to reduce possibility of gas leak even under extreme usage
    4. GT1 dust cover:  Custom moulded out of harden neoprene, it will protect the damper shaft against debris and had been used by BAD on rally cars for years.

The combination all the above parts + experience of BAD suspension engineering and vehicle dynamic makes the GT1 a suspension that will compete with the best on the market.

  4. Not a problem, this is just a thought.

After all, as I have said, suspension is our main focus and expertise.

I find exhaust is a bit more difficult because it is difficult to quantify, but that is why just checking to see interests.

If there isn't much then there is no point, because it would a complete new development for us.

Mind you our fabricator have done some exotic cars in the past also.

I just use a turbo drift car as example because probably nothing put exhaust under more stress.

When you are bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th gear going sideway, the sheer engine heat + lack of air flow (as you are going sideway) makes the manifold glow white sometime.

Quality aside, it is the noise that most owners are after…  So that is where the R&D time will have to be spend.

Because the best build exhaust that sound boring will not generate any interests.

    Jerrick

  5. We will provide lifetime warranty on the exhaust we sell, but don't think any of the exhaust ever had a weld fail on any of our cars.

And that include turbo manifold / down pipe on a championship winning drift car.

It does depends on if there are interests.

We can make great product, but if there is no demand for it then it wouldn't make sense to go into R&D.

    Jerrick

  6. Just out of interest are your exhausts made in the UK or are they made elsewhere?

Also, may I ask how your exhausts are higher quality as you don't actually state how that is achieved. I have a Milltek which is an exhaust company I've heard of. Whilst I've heard of Meister R suspension I wasn't aware that you made exhausts.

They will all be hand built by our fabricator in the UK.  It is a custom exhaust fabricator we used for years.

He is the go to person for us, all of MeisterR demo cars, and most of the MeisterR sponsored Team MnM Drift cars, etc. all have our exhaust build by him.

He normally do one off custom job, but we actually try to make production unit by jigging up an entire car.

In the case of the R35 exhaust, we build a complete jig the length of the entire car and weight 200kg.

In terms of quality, it will be from the material choice we use and the actual skill labor involved.

For sound absorbing material, we use a "woven" Acousta-Fil mat.

Because of the way the mat are made, it reinforce itself and no metal wires are needed around the material.

We can also pack it in different density which will affect the sound, but that will be something to be done in the designing phase.

I know other use continuous fibre, but I don't think many company use the woven mat due to the higher cost.

The welding will be the biggest difference visually.

There is a huge difference in the quality and strength of the welding from an experience welder, vs a welding assembly line.

Finally, it will be the design.

Because it is a bespoke custom design item, we can use more complex design.

What we will design will depends on how the engine sound, as every engine sound different so it is a little of R&D to see what works with the engine and make it sounds best.

The MeisterR exhaust (if we do make them) will be more of a bespoke custom build exhaust than a off the shelf item.

We won't be selling loads like the Miltek, but of those we sell will have quality next to none.

It just depends if there are enough to justify the initial R&D, jigging, production, etc.

    Jerrick

  7. This is just a questions to see interests.

While MeisterR is a suspension specialist, we have done other project throughout the years.

One of them is exhaust system.

The GT86 exhaust was always something we had in mind, but never really got around to it.

So we just want to see if there are any interests if we had one made.

The main difference between a MeisterR exhaust and other mainstream company (such as Miltek) is we make exhaust to a higher quality and also employ different design usually.

We want exhaust to be more enthusiast focused, so we want to keep drone reasonable but we don't want it too quiet.

We can make a quiet exhaust if it is for track use, but we really want an exhaust that is fun to used on those fast road / tunnel run.   :)

Here is a video of the exhaust we made for the R35 GTR.

The GT86 won't sound the same, but you get the idea of what we mean by we aren't after a quiet exhaust.

Price will be slightly higher than Miltek, but it won't be miles off.

So this is a case to see if there are any interests if we have something like this made.

We will probably need a car from an owner for about 2 weeks and jig up the entire car and try out a few different version if we do decide to go ahead with this project.

Just a questions to see interests, that is all.   :)

  8. Im starting to look into a coilover kit for my car. For regular fast road use, and somethign not too stone hard, im not a tiny teen anymore.. :) Would the Zeta-R kit do the trick? Its mainly gonna be fast road as i said, and i actually do like the OEM suspension, but would love to get it a bit lower to the ground, without loosing damping and suspension travel.

Also, how long is the offer valid? And can you estimate freight to Denmark?

Yes, that is what the Zeta-R is design for.

Fast road usage with occasional track day.

The damping adjustments are available for you to get the most out of the car on track, but daily use shouldn't leave you cripple with a shattered spine.

Valid will be on for a while, I will review all my offer in the new year.

Shipping to Denmark will be £35.

  9. MeisterR has been working over the past 2 years on the development of an amazing British engineered suspension.

We didn't want to make something simply different, we wanted to make the best and compete with the best offerings on the market.
We have finally arrived at the finish line and the new MeisterR GT1 Coilovers are finally ready.

The GT1 coilovers are developed in collaboration between MeisterR and Black Art Design (BAD).
BAD is a well known British suspension company responsible for many race winning cars.
Their portfolio range from the DAX Rush, Noble, Classic Austin Martin, to the fastest privateer Ford RS200 in the Colorado Pike Peaks.

The GT1 coilovers have many custom in-house made parts that are truly cutting edge engineering.
As there are so many technical features on the GT1 coilovers, we are still compiling a presentation that can show off these features in an easy to read format.

But here is a little teaser video I made up for the GT1 Coilovers

The GT1 coilovers retail at £1650, and we want to provide a few benefits to members that may be interested.

Here are a few points we are thinking about and we want the community's opinion.

    1.  Life-Time Warranty on hydraulic function to the original purchaser:
That is right, the GT1 damper is built to such a high specification that technically speaking, unless it is physically damaged (such as a bent / scored shaft), it will continue to operate forever… even under racing condition.
However, parts exposed to the element will wear over time so you really can't give a lifetime warranty on those, but the actual damper itself will continue to function for years, we are that confident of the quality.

The warranty means, if you go to Nurburg every weekend and a damper failed after a run 3 years later, we will rebuild it for free.
If you crash into the Armco and bent the rod, or run into the gravel and scored the damper shaft causing the damper to fail, then it isn't cover. Sounds pretty fair?

    2.  Upgrade from Zeta-S / Zeta-R / Europa to GT1 Coilovers:
We feel that some MeisterR owners would want to upgrade to the GT1 in the future. So we want to make an upgrade program for those who have purchased the Zeta-S / Zeta-R / Europa coilovers.
Our initial thought is, you can purchase a set of GT1 coilovers, and after installation you can send back your old set of MeisterR coilovers and we will refund you £350 (Around 50% of the purchase price) for your old set.
That way you get a brand new set GT1 in your hand, and there is no need to try to sell the old set of suspensions or wait for a rebuild.

So what do you think of the life-time warranty and the upgrade option with the GT1 Coilovers?
Do you have anything else that you feel could be beneficial to the end user.

We are always open to opinions and suggestions.

  13. Just join up on this form and find people actually looking at vehicle dynamic interesting.

A lot of people don't look at that, just put in stiff springs and go "Because race car".

MeisterR also use the 6/6 kg/mm combination, seems to be a reasonable wheel frequency for the GT86.

Will be good enough for most fast road / occasional track days.

One thing many people forget is to look at the damping, as that have a direct effect on how a car "feel".

You could use a soft springs but with a very high cracking pressure "square" valved damper (Very typical of OEM Bilstein suspension), and the ride will still be very uncomfortable especially over the many small bumps on motorway.

Either, there are a lot of choices when picking coilovers, it will be depending on what you are using the car for and your budget.

You can always spend more for more advance suspensions, getting the best performing suspension out of your budget is the trick.  :)
